I tried all the RX bars and all the Nu Go bars and I like this one the best of all the varieties (peanut butter isn't bad either but more oily). The texture is like the nougat you get in the packaged fancy chocolate boxes. It's chewy and slightly hard when the bar is left at room temperature or warmer. If the bar is left in a cold spot as in a fridge, it becomes hard as a rock. The taste is good. Not mind blowing but better than many other bars of this type. I like the simple high quality ingredients. No fillers, no added sugar, no harmful chemical sugar substitute, no stevia, no added oils. It gives a nice protein/carb boost without inferior soya/pea protein concentrates. It's expensive ? Yes but you get what you pay for (there's the equivalent of 3 egg whites in each bar). Because of the ingredients that it comprises, it has to be sold at a certain price. Although the bar is not that big, it's hefty and very filling. I'd like RX to lower the salt content (it's sea salt but there's too much). Also, the next step would be to go totally organic but that would up the cost even more.
I recently tried the chocolate banana variety and it's great. It doesn't taste like chocolate though. If you like spicy banana cake, you are going to love this. It has half the sodium content of the chocolate sea salt variety and still packs 12 grams of high quality protein per bar.
