Read/own all the Dune books. Yes, this one offers a conclusion to the three book "schools" trilogy, and some of the characters from the "butlerian jihad" trilogy as well, but the ending offers little to inform the next trilogy (houses) and makes the series ending a little confusing. I feel as if there are too many questions raised in the previous trilogy that were not answered, same with questions I hoped solved pertaining to the original Dune books, or even the other books by the same authors in this universe.

I found this trilogy (schools: sisterhood, mentats, and navigators) as a whole was not written well and is of a lower quality compared to any of the other books. Sisterhood was especially ripe with repeating itself offering little to no new information each time a character's thoughts were reintroduced. If you are an original Dune fan, these 3 books are not a necessary read and I'd suggest skipping them altogether. Still, it is within the Dune universe, and that will almost always guarantee 3 stars from me. Not sure I'll read them again as I was a little disappointed.
