- Reviewed in Canada on June 8, 2025This wooden block set offers something a little different in the way of open-ended play by being in the shape of numbers from 1 to 10. First off, oftentimes, toys with numbers tend to go from 0-9 because it is easier to use single digits, over figuring out how to structurally design a double digit number like 10. So I appreciate that this block set figured out a way to incorporate the number 10 in a fixed way that appears as one unit.
The second design element that is so thoughtful is that the numbers grow increasingly larger in size relative to the number so that children can be visually reminded that larger numbers are "bigger" and represent "more". The sizes are proportionate to the fractional space that they should take up, so it should also aid in early learning of how numbers can be combined to create larger numbers. Each block has a corresponding number of dots and the written word and number itself printed in a white paint for additional ways to learn the number. Love this thoughtful set that is different from most number blocks and happy to add it to our rotation of toys to help our child explore numeracy.
