These sensors make a great addition to our ecoBee3 Lite thermostat, allowing us to select which rooms are considered when running heat/cool – great if you have a room or two that remains uncomfortable after adjusting ducts. Our baby room tends to be the coolest room on the second floor in the winter; we now have one sensor in this room and have set the ecoBee to use this room as the only ‘sensor’ for heating overnight. As a result, we know our son’s room will always be at the optimal temperature (he is too young for blankets). During the workday, another sensor in our office (this room tends to have the most extreme temperatures in the house) is the only one considered. During early evenings and on weekends, we rely on the thermostat sensor. Each comfort setting can be tied to one sensor (as I have set), or to average multiple sensors. Sensors can also detect movement, and heating/cooling can be based only on rooms with recent movement. Sensors are compact and look good – they can sit on a desk using included magnetic stands, or can be attached to a vertical surface using the included adhesive. These sensors are definitely worth considering if you have an ecoBee thermostat and want to prioritize heating/cooling to certain rooms in your house.

    Had a new heat pump installed and my thermostat installed was an Ecobee I bought these and moved them around the house till I get my desired heat. Since they use an avg I can move them around or select which ones are used at various times of day. Excellent addition for additional comfort.

    I had one of the earlier sensors fail so I bought these newer ones. Easy to setup and I like the ability to have temperature feedback from multiple areas of the house.

    I have four of these and one of the older sensors now, so combined with the thermostat itself I get six readings on my phone. It helps you realize if you're freezing someone out in the basement.
