These little sensors work super well in my home.
I have them paired with an ecobee lite3 Smart Thermostat, and they took no more than 5 minutes to get set up and running. You are able to tell the thermostat whether or not you want these sensors to factor into the total temperature of the house, or if you want your HVAC system to turn on/off depending solely on these sensors.
Have one in my office and one in the living room, while the thermostat is in the hallway to the kitchen. When I'm at work, I have the sensor detect only the office temperature so that my heat turns on when it's cold in the room.
I also recently set up a Home Assistant server in my house. Using HomeKit, my entire ecobee system was added to it. I was surprised to learn that HA can use the presence/motion sensors from these devices to run automations. Really impressive for something this small, and it's a nice added bonus! Do be warned though, those 2 sensors are fairly slow to update from these devices, but for simple automations, its ideal.
They also come with wall mount kits which I personally haven't used. They're super small, easy to place, and the battery so far has lasted almost a year on my side and they're still running.
Not incredibly cheap, but for a pack of 2, I'd highly suggest picking these up.
