The install seems complicated, but if you take it slow and follow the video step by step you will get it done. 95% of the components included can be reused from the controller. There is one tiny piece that breaks and is all you really need to replace to get that back paddle working again.

Sony will not fix the Edge Controller out of warranty so I was lucky to find this part. Videos online were easy to follow, needed manual dexterity to open the Edge Controller and install the part. I would recommend doing this in a well lit and clean area because the little screws, springs and various little parts can fall and would be difficult to find.

So far, over 2 years of using a Dualsense Edge controller, I had 3 failures for this exact part. I was lucky enough for the store to take back the first controller, and I had to send my controller to Sony for a service at my own expense while sending me back a reconditioned unit. The pictures are the one I took when I opened my controller to figure out what was the issue.

If you purchased a Dualsense Edge controller and you are using the back buttons, like I do, the back buttons are going to break, it is just a matter of time, and this will be due to this particular part that Sony is refusing to supply.

It is unacceptable that the only option for repairing your controller is third party offering, and this took more than a year and half for this to be available to Dualsense Edge users.

So this is a relief to finally be able to purchase this part. If you have a Dualsense Edge, you will eventually need a set of those, so better buying one while you can.
