The laser can be set on any surface, mounted on a tripod, or by using the included magnetic holder. I had no issues attaching it securely to our tripod.
The laser was really simple to use. I didn’t quite have the tripod level when I turned on the laser, so it immediately started to beep to let me know it wasn’t within 3 degrees. Once I adjusted the tripod, it stopped beeping, and I could see the green laser levelling out. To show how accurate the laser is, I tested it in our basement on a floating floor which has a little bit of bounce to it, and you can see the level line wiggles when someone lightly taps on the floor with their foot. Once they stopped the laser leveled again. It was pretty amazing. I also tested the line with a level, and it was exactly level.
The laser also has the option to turn off the beeping if you need an unlevel line (eg for installing a sloped handrail) but long pressing the button on top. The laser brightness is adjusted but short presses of the same button.
The laser is charged using an included cable, with coated ends for extra durability. The light on the cable turns red when charging, and blue when it’s fully charged. The light is also blue when the cable is unplugged from the cube which is a good reminder that you’ve left the cord plugged into the wall charger.
The laser also came with a protective case, but it only fits the level – not the charging cable or magnet bracket. I wish that the case was bigger to fit the accessories as well.
Overall, this is an excellent laser, will be really helpful during home improvements, and I would recommend.
