How do I use a shower steamer?

Before entering the shower, remove the steamer from its protective wrap, then place in your shower. The hot water from your shower activates it and releases its scent.
How long does a shower steamer last & where do I put it in my shower?

Typically steamers will last 1-3 showers. Where you place your steamer depends on your desired scent strength level. Placing it directly under your shower’s water stream will intensify the scent strength but also cause it to dissolve more quickly.
Why is each shower steamer individually wrapped?

Each shower steamer contains essential oils which dissipate over time if not adequately packaged. Our wrap allows our steamers to maintain their scent and strength level over time so scent dissipation does not occur.
Are there any other tips for use?

Shower steamers work best when used during a hot shower. Don't touch your eyes after handling the shower steamer to avoid possible eye irritation. Avoid placing the steamer close to your feet to prevent slipping. Do not use as a bath bomb.
Is this shower steamer safe for my pipes and the environment?

I have used Rocky Mountain Barber Co.'s original shower steamers, and these updated ones. By far, these are superior. The scent is strong, and works quite well. If you used the round puck ones before and were disappointed, these are what you should get instead.

I'd like to see more scents, but as a relaunch of the shower steamer line, this is a good first step.

More scents please! These are very strong (stronger than Vicks shower steamers but do not last as long). In fact I had to close my eyes because they started burning, so if you have a small, enclosed shower like I do - be warned. However, they helped clear my sinuses which were stuffy from a cold. I would buy again but mostly use when I have a cold because of the potency.

I am in absolute heaven with these shower steamers from Rocky Mountain Barber Company. The Mountain Mint is amazing. It’s just the most delicious eucalyptus/peppermint/menthol scent that you could possibly imagine and as a mint lover, I couldn’t be happier. And they use real essential oils.

The scent is nice and strong, perfect for providing genuine therapeutic benefit, in the fragrance last, even once the shower steamer has disintegrated completely.

A word of advice; position them away from being directly hit by the water. I let the shower hit it full on the first time, and it was gone in the blink of an eye. The steamers are really best kind of tucked in the corner of the tub, where the water can slowly hit it - that’s how you get the most longevity out of each one. I’d say they last about 10 minutes, but the is value in the fact that the scent continues to linger.

I appreciate that these come in a sealable bag, each steamer is individually wrapped as well; but it is a small bummer that there are only 7 in the bag because I would use these every day if I could, but that would be a little bit pricey. So I guess that leaves them better for those really bad days or just to treat yourself nice, and I would recommend them for this.

They make it pretty clear on the packaging that these are not bath bombs and not meant to be used in the bath, but boy are these po-TENT! They're mostly made of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and menthol, with a bunch of other natural oils, but they're so strong that you can easily smell them through the packaging. Since they're also not meant to be touched once they start disintegrating, I put one in a contained soap dish in the corner of the shower stall and let some water drip on it to get it started. Actually didn't disintegrate quite as fast as I was expecting, but it filled up the entire stall with the scent in seconds. Not sure if it's this particular fragrance or what (since menthol is extremely aromatic), but it was a little overwhelming the first time. I'm honestly thinking about breaking the others in half because my showers rarely exceed 3-4 minutes and the block barely gets down to 2/3rds by the time I'm done. The added benefit of course is that the steam carries the scent throughout the bathroom and remains there for several hours afterwards. If there's any left, you can even put the dry brittle remainder in a small soap bag (as long as the mesh is very fine) and use it as an air freshener anywhere in the house. In fact, you don't even need to get them wet to use them as air fresheners because they're so potent. The moisture in the air might even be enough to erode them over several days.

Overall though, they certainly deliver when it comes to filling up the shower air with fragrance, and the mint even has somewhat of relaxing sensation on the lungs without any irritation. I think the reason I was overwhelmed on the first go was because I was using a sweet-scented body wash and the combination of the two aromas didn't quite sit right with me. Probably best used with an unscented soap or one that already has a great deal of mint in it. Then again, I suppose it could be an exercise in perfume layering! For what they are, I'd say they do the job well.

I tried these Mountain Mint shower steamers and they’re really refreshing. Just drop one in the corner of your shower and get hit with a strong eucalyptus-peppermint-menthol scent. It wakes you up and definitely clears your sinuses. Perfect for a quick de-stress moment after a long day or if you’ve got a stuffy nose. The scent lasts through most of the shower and lingers in the bathroom for the rest of the day which I found quite nice.

I wasn't sure what to expect since I had read poor reviews of the similar Vicks product, but I had always wanted to try these because my partner's sinuses are always a wreck. I decided to do a test run, and I was pleasantly surprised.

The smell took a little getting used to. There are some earthier tones at first (probably the eucalyptus) that reminded me of tobacco, which gave the experience a bit of a menthol cigarette vibe. That faded quickly, though, and I was left with a clean, lingering scent of menthol that lasted through my entire ~20-minute shower.

One important thing to note is that a single tablet is meant to be used over multiple showers. If you just toss it on the shower floor, it will dissolve completely in one use. That’s wasteful, especially if you’re already getting the intended effect with only light contact with water. These aren’t cheap, so it’s worth positioning them somewhere they won’t be constantly hit by the water.

For my shower, I held one in my hand just long enough to get it a little wet, then placed it on the side of the tub where it wouldn’t get splashed again. It would be helpful if they included a small adhesive soap shelf or something similar to make it obvious to people who didn’t read the back of the bag that the whole tablet isn’t meant for one use. I might 3D print something for that.

Overall, it was a pleasant addition to the shower experience. I’ll keep buying them if my partner ends up liking them too.

I recently tested two different eucalyptus shower steamers and this one was one of them and my favorite. In a pack of 7, each steamer is almost 2 inch square, wrapped in plastic that is easy to open. They are definitely not individually wrapped to add to a gift bundle, so plan on purchasing these for yourself or put in a bowl for your guests that might be visiting. This Rocky Mountain Barber Company steamer is a little bit smaller than the other one I tested and it lasted one to two minutes shorter, but I liked the smell better. This one was "sweet" smelling. Think sweet mint gum vs. mint gum, it was more satisfying. I would say it lasted between 7-9 minutes, although I didn't time it. The smell was notable, but not overpowering. At the time of this review, the 7 pack is just under 15 dollars. That is $2.14 a steamer, which was a comparable price. This steamer is made in the USA, the other is made in China, and their ingredient list is short and almost the same. I would purchase this one again because I liked the smell better.

These are the first shower steamers I’ve tried that actually deliver on the strong mint scent. I’ve gone through so many that claimed to be refreshing but ended up super weak. These ones do what they say. They’re individually wrapped and pretty thick, and one steamer lasted through my full 40+ minute shower, which rarely happens.

The mint is strong in the best way. It’s super refreshing, helps relieve congestion, and leaves the air feeling clean and cool even after I step out of the shower. It’s honestly such a stress reliever at the end of the day. If you’re a mint lover like me, these are a must. My only gripe is the price. I wish it was a little more affordable, but I’d still buy them in the future because they actually work and feel amazing.
