I’ve tested this on a handful of different vehicles from GM cars and trucks to Jeeps and a Toyota Corolla. Each connected and auto detected the VIN. The bulk of my usage has been on a 2005 GMC Sierra and an ABS bleed on a Jeep JK.

This scanner does all your basic scan and code clearing capabilities with the addition of ABS/SRS/Transmission and 7 Resets such as oil change resets. One feature I really like is the ability to control some functions in the vehicle such as the fuel pump. Incredibly useful when testing a fuel pump for failure or even when changing line to test for leaks before starting the vehicle.

The scanner was easy to setup with no need to create an account, just connect to your WIFI, perform the updates and go plug it into a vehicle. I found the interface to be very intuitive and I had no issue finding the functions I was looking for. The touchscreen worked really well and the buttons on the right of the scanner will also navigate the commands.

This scanner requires a physical connection to the OBD2 port it is not Bluetooth but that is to be expected at this price point. I actually prefer the user interface of this scanner over my more expensive Bluetooth scanner. The Bluetooth scanners are more convenient when doing some of the system tests and services such as brake bleeds, that said I'd have no issue recommending this scanner to others.

The build quality is solid and the interface is surprisingly easy to navigate for such a feature-rich tool, and the full-color screen is bright and easy to read, even in low-light garages. I was able to run active tests on my car’s components like fuel pumps, cooling fans, and window motors. The coverage across vehicle brands is impressive. It comes with a sturdy carrying case that keeps everything organized. Free lifetime updates mean the tool won't become obsolete anytime soon. It is expensive and on a pricier side.

Pros:

I’ve tested the FX6000 on a variety of vehicles, including both older and newer models, and it connected successfully every time.
This scanner isn’t just for clearing check engine lights. It reads codes from ABS, SRS (airbags), transmission, and other systems. It flagged a transmission solenoid issue on one vehicle that basic scanners couldn’t detect.
A neat feature for me was the active tests. I could manually trigger things like the radiator fan and fuel pump to confirm component function which is extremely useful for pinpointing issues without guesswork.
I’ve personally used the tool to reset oil and brake service lights, calibrate the throttle body, and even run an ABS bleed after changing brake components.
A big plus is that the lifetime updates are included. There’s no need to pay extra every year or unlock features like some other brands require.
Right out of the box, the device was running the latest software version. The updater was simple and painless I just needed to connect to WIFI and away I go.
The device has a rugged, professional feel. The touch screen is large and readable, even in outdoor light, and the button layout is straightforward.

Cons:

While powerful, it doesn’t cover every special function for all car brands. Some advanced OEM-specific features may not be available, depending on the vehicle.
Navigation works fine but the menus are old school and can take a few extra clicks to find what I'm looking for.
The included manual is basic. If you’re unfamiliar with service functions like SAS calibration or BMS reset, you’ll likely need to search online or watch tutorials.
It connects via OBD2 cable and lacks Bluetooth or Wi-Fi options. That’s expected at this price, but something to note if you’re looking for wireless flexibility.

I grabbed this as I like to work on my car and was getting tired of the cheap bluetooth dongle type OBD readers, most of which have terrible apps which often require subscriptions. This blows away the BT adapters since it's a proper professional grade, standalone tool, like you'd see in a shop. The hardware is pretty chunky but rugged, and the LCD has good contrast ratio, viewing angles, and a good range of brightness control. The touch is reasonably responsive for a embedded device, but it definitely won't compare to a high end 120Hz AMOLED Android tablet, obviously.

A big selling point of the Ancel is the lifetime updates including OTA firmware upgrades. I will say that the updates are quite slow, taking hours to initially bring everything up to date out of the box. I actually just left it overnight to run. That said, each component can be updated separately (delta updates, like on an Android phone) so going forward I assume the process will be a lot quicker.

Functionally it does a good job reading codes, and even allows you to search and browse the web for more info. Clearing the codes works well as do the realtime monitors. The software does have a few minor bugs and some slightly-odd translations but nothing that makes it difficult to use. I do wish the unit had 5Ghz Wifi support (it seems to only detect 2.4Ghz networks), and the hardware buttons are a bit stiff, although that may be a plus when using the device with gloves on.

Overall it's an excellent futureproof scantool with a ton of functionality. Thumbs up.

Let's start at the unboxing. It comes with a carrying case. I cannot stress enough how much I love the travel/storage case. Other than that, it comes with the scanner, OBD2 connector, usb type c, and some quick directions.

The first thing I did was update. This mid value code reader makes updating a breeze with the internal wifi. The wifi connected immediately and the speed was amazing. The touch screen AND hard bezel buttons make navigating a breeze.

I used this on a 2019 Fusion and the Bidirectional Scan worked flawlessly. The ease of access and quick response time easily makes this purchase worth it.

I have not used the live chat as I have not need them yet. The codes are immediately read. The short description of the code is easy enough to deal with. What more can you ask for?

The only con I have found so far is when you are selecting an option, it can be extremely difficult to see which option you have selected. It barely highlights the option. Although this is bothersome, it's not enough to deduct a star as the performance and connectivity is absolutely astounding.

L’ANCEL FX6000 è uno strumento decisamente valido per chi si occupa di auto in autonomia o ha un’officina non professionale. A differenza dei classici lettori OBD2 economici, questo scanner permette di accedere a molti più moduli, come ABS, airbag, trasmissione e centralina motore, e consente anche funzioni bidirezionali su diverse auto.
Provato su una Ford, una Volkswagen e una Toyota, ha riconosciuto senza problemi i sistemi principali, permettendo la lettura e la cancellazione dei codici errore. Ma la parte più interessante sono le funzioni speciali: reset olio e freni, apprendimento del pedale acceleratore, calibrazione angolo sterzo (SAS), gestione della batteria (BMS), sfiato ABS e altro ancora. Non tutte le funzioni sono disponibili su ogni veicolo, ma su modelli abbastanza diffusi è compatibile con parecchie operazioni.
Il dispositivo è robusto, lo schermo è grande e ben leggibile, e la navigazione tra i menu è piuttosto semplice anche per chi non è un esperto. Certo, non siamo ai livelli delle diagnosi ufficiali delle case automobilistiche, ma per l’uso su auto personali o per chi fa manutenzione in autonomia, è uno strumento completo e affidabile.
In conclusione, il FX6000 si comporta bene, offre tante funzioni utili e permette di risolvere diversi problemi senza dover sempre andare in officina. Per chi cerca uno strumento di diagnosi più evoluto del solito lettore base, è sicuramente una scelta da considerare.

El ANCEL FX6000 me ha parecido una excelente opción para quienes buscan una herramienta de diagnóstico completa y semiprofesional sin tener que invertir en equipos de taller de alto coste. Funciona con Android 10, pantalla táctil de 6,2” y memoria generosa (32 GB ROM + 2 GB RAM), lo que permite manejar informes, apps y datos con buena fluidez.

Uno de sus mayores aciertos es la función bidireccional, que te permite activar componentes como inyectores, bomba de combustible o ventiladores, algo impensable en escáneres básicos. El escaneo de 4 sistemas principales (motor, ABS, SRS, transmisión) es rápido y preciso, y la función de VIN automático ahorra bastante tiempo.

Incluye además 7 funciones de reset clave (aceite, freno, batería, etc.) que pueden ahorrarte mucho dinero en el taller, especialmente si estás acostumbrado al mantenimiento DIY. También se agradece la actualización Wi-Fi con un clic, el soporte CAN-FD para vehículos más modernos y el acceso a más de 100 marcas.

¿Por qué no le doy 5 estrellas?

El menú no siempre está traducido al 100% y a veces hay errores menores en los textos.

Algunas funciones dependen del modelo de coche, así que no siempre tienes acceso a todo lo que ofrece.

Requiere una actualización inicial obligatoria, que puede ser lenta si la conexión Wi-Fi es débil.

Aun así, por el precio y todo lo que incluye, es una herramienta muy completa, ideal para mecánicos aficionados, talleres pequeños o usuarios avanzados. Altamente recomendable si sabes lo que buscas y tu vehículo es compatible

Overall, it's a good scanner with advanced features such as some bi-directional control! Good coverage of makes and models, including my Asian (Honda and Toyota/Lexus) and European (BMW) vehicles. And I can confirm that several advanced features work on BMW, e.g. transfer case adaptation reset, ABS bleeding/actuation, reading model-specific live stream data such as ATF temp. For basic maintenance and diagnosis needs, this scanner will be good enough. And it's a fair value given the $200 price (after discount).

That said, the scanner is lacking features in several aspects. It only has 7 reset functions, including oil reset which doesn't really count as you can do it without a scanner on virtually any make and model. There are also limited bi-directional/actuation functions you can find under each system (e.g. engine, transmission). I couldn't find any body electric controls on my BMW.

The user interface and battery power management need improvement. While I like both the touch screen and physical buttons--having both is great--the user interface/design is confusing. The color theme (which I am not sure can be changed) doesn't help distinguish the active button on focus from the rest (in different grays of red and it's very counter-intuitive). Also the interface doesn't utilize the colors--YES, on a color screen--when showing live data or ready status. As you can see in the pictures, it should have shown I/M readiness in GREEN vs. RED for ready vs. incomplete to quickly spot them. The same on the live data. The interface and use of color etc. are just poorly designed and should be improved!

Scanning a vehicle automatically, it will show the correctly identified vehicle make/model/year first and then ask you again as to whether you want to identify it automatically or manually select it again. A poorly designed workflow!

On power management--I started software update, turned off the screen, and left it in the garage over night. The next morning, the battery was all gone. I don't think software update would have taken hours (it was updated before and this was for a few new updates) and drained the battery so it must be poor power management when idling. I've done this on my other scanners and didn't have this problem.

Overall, it's a decent product but can be improved on the software and power management!

Resets and actuation functions are limited, fair (not excellent though) for the price.
