A strong team of producers, writers and composers were brought together for the album including; Chris Neil (Sheena Easton, Mike + The Mechanics), Paul Bliss (Amy Holland), Aldo Nova (Aldo Nova, Blue Öyster Cult, Jon Bon Jovi) and David Foster (Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Chicago). The album's 10 songs include the hits "Where Does My Heart Beat Now", "(If There Was) Any Other Way" and "Unison", and served as the perfect English introduction for Celine to the world. Recorded in London, Los Angeles and New York, Unison put everything in place to propel Celine to global superstardom.     Elle avait déjà publié plusieurs albums en français et elle obtenait beaucoup de succès au Québec, ainsi qu'un petit succès en France (avec ''D'amour et d'amitié''). En 1990, éԱ Dion se lance à la conquête du monde avec son 1er disque en anglais ''Unison''. Bien que l'album a démarré difficilement dans le Canada anglophone, la chanson ''Where Does My Heart Beat Now'' va contribué à sa percée au Canada anglophone et obtenir un début de notoriété aux États-Unis. Bien que l'album n'obtienne pas un très grand succès aux États-Unis à sa sortie (300 000 copies seulement en 1991), la chanson ''Where Does My Heart Beat Now'' va marquer un tournant à sa carrière. Mariah Carey arrivait en même temps qu'elle aux États-Unis et obtenait beaucoup de succès, ce qui a peut-être nui à son ascension de éԱ au départ. Pour ma part, cet album est un très bon album et pour un 1er album anglophone, c'est un effort qui mérite le respect pour introduire éԱ dans le marché anglophone, car il offre de très bons morceaux à l'album.

    1. ''(If There Was) Any Other Way'': Un beau morceau qui démarre bien l'album. Cette chanson Up-tempo n'est pas peut-être pas le meilleur choix de single, mais cette chanson offre un beau rythme qui tiens bien la chanson et le vidéo américaine permet de mettre en valeur la chanson. Le single n'aura succès mitigé au Canada et lorsqu'il sortiras en single aux "États-Unis'' en 1991, il n'aura qu'un succès modéré, atteignant le top 40.
    2. ''If Love is Out of Question'': Un autre bon morceau, qui offre sur celle-ci une belle prestation vocale de éԱ.
    3. ''Where Does My Heart Beat Now'': Non seulement la meilleure chanson de l'album, mais aussi ma chanson préférée de l'album. Cette ballade déploie toute la puissance vocale de éԱ et la beauté incroyable du son fait en sorte qu'elle est exceptionnelle et efficace. Elle était la chanson parfaite pour éԱ et idéale pour conquérir le marché anglophone. Lorsqu'elle enregistras la chanson, elle fait une 1ère prise et c'est celle-là qui se trouve sur l'album. Et elle l’interpréteras dans toutes ses tournées. Le vidéo Canadien aussi est à souligner, avec ce côté old school qui la mets en valeur. Un chef d'oeuvre cette chanson. Lorsqu'il sortiras comme 3e extrait, le single va lui permettre de percé le Canada anglophone, ateignant la 6e position en 1991. Et lorsqu'il sortiras comme 1er extrait aux États-Unis, le single rencontre un très grand succès, atteignant la 4e position en mars 1991.
    4. ''The Last to know'': Un autre ballade, dans la veine de Where Does My Heart Beat Now. La chanson est aussi très forte, éԱ y mets toute sa puissance, son désespoir et sa force durant toute la chanson. Le message et surtout la beauté incroyable de cette chanson en fait d'elle une des meilleurs chansons de l'album (étant produite par Christopher Neil, qui a produit les quatre premiers titres de l'album). Bien que cette chanson ne rencontre pas autant de succès que Where Does My Heart Beat Now, il obtient néanmoins un bon succès au Canada, atteignant le top 20 en juin 1991.
    5. ''I'm loving Every Moment With You'': Pas le meilleur morceau de l'album, mais cette chanson reste agréable et surtout la voix de éԱ se mèle très bien à la chanson.
    6. ''Love by Another Name'': Un super bon morceau qui offre sa voix dans la douceur et montre qu'elle peut chanteur dans les notes plus basses (notamment au début de la chanson). Avec David Foster à la barre, la chanson offre un très bon rythme et un bon groove qui nous permet de bouger et parfaites pour les pistes de danse. éԱ fait aussi référence à ses origines Québécoises en chantant quelques lignes en français.
    7. ''Unison'': Un super bon morceau, mais dont la production originale manque un peu de punch, bien qu'elle soit bien fait. La version remixée pour sa sortie en single rehausse la chanson et le vidéoclip permet de montrer une éԱ en train de danser dans la vidéo. Cependant, la chanson n'irais pas bien loin au marché anglophone lorsqu'il sortiras en single au Canada.
    8. ''I Feel too Much'': Un autre chanson produite par David Foster. La chanson reste très ancré dans les années 80, mais cette chanson offre un très beau groove qui mets en valeur la voix de éԱ. Cette chanson reste un chef-d'oeuvre.
    9. ''If We Could Star Over'': Encore une ballade produite par David Foster. Cette ballade est magnifiquement bien faites et éԱ offre une très belle interprétation durant la chanson.
    10. ''Have a Heart'': La chanson qui introduit éԱ pour la 1ère fois au marché anglophone lorsqu'elle l'a chanté au Juno Awards en 1988. Et aussi une adaptation anglophone de la chanson Partout je te vois, parue sur son album précédent Incognito. C'est cette chanson qui fut présenté à David Foster, qui accepté de produire l'album et cette chanson est produite par lui. Une super belle ballade qui mets en valeur la beauté, la résonance et la puissance vocale que éԱ déploit durant la chanson. Un super beau morceau.

    Cette album est un très bel effort pour un artiste à ses débuts au niveau mondiale et surtout permet d'introduire éԱ dans le marché anglophone. Je le recommande pour ceux qui sont fan de éԱ.
