Handy adapter with an anti-loss loop
The UGREEN USB to USB-C Adapter is an easy way to connect your USB-C to USB-C cables to the USB-A port on your computer. It can also connect the same cable to charging blocks that have USB-A ports. This is perfect for travel as it lessens the cables you need to pack. I like that it has an anti-loss loop to secure it to the end of the charging cable. The loop is a soft rubber and is easy to bend. The adapter nice quality, like other UGREEN products I have used. I tested connecting my Kobo e-reader and a Samsung Galaxy phone to my laptop’s USB-A port. It worked perfectly for both and allowed me to charge the devices (via a charging port). I also transferred data to and from the laptop. This is a handy adapter to have.

- Reviewed in Canada on June 10, 2025I absolutely love Ugreen products and this one is no exception. I already own a bunch of their adaptors for usb, audio and power and the quality has always been excellent.
First of all, you can tell it's good quality - the packaging is a high quality ziplock and each usb adaptor is packaged individually and has a cap (probably unnecessary but still a nice touch)
I'm a big fan of adaptors as opposed to having a different cable for each device. Unfortunately, until USB-C becomes standard and until all legacy devices are gone, we're going to need some type of solution. This is a good one and I leave adaptors everywhere - at home, in the office and in the car. Having multiple small adaptors is definitely space saving compared to having multiple cables with various ends all over the place.
The small loop is also nice in that it allows you to attach the adaptor to your usb-c cable without losing it. It's easy to put on and won't fall off. Personally, I don't need that though and would prefer to not have the extra piece sticking out, but to each his own. They do sell other version without this.
Overall a great product for charging or transferring data to older USB-A ports from a usb-C cable. It's nice that it's a 3-pack as you can never have enough of these things. I'll continue getting Ugreen adaptors in future as really they're great quality, up there in terms of quality.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 2, 2025I have a lot of UGreen products in my home, from cables to bluetooth dongles, almost all of which I've purchased directly. As usual, these match the quality I expect from the brand.
The good:
- Materials: The devices are really well made, with the entire loop and adapter encased in a single piece of soft rubber. There should be no cases of the loop detaching from the body of the adapter itself
- Dust cap: These shipping with dust caps for the USBA side is a really nice touch. It would have been great for the USBC side to get the same treatment, but the odds of things getting in that port (aside from dust) are pretty low
The less good:
- Charging throughput: It's likely a limitation of USBA, as opposed to the cable itself, but worth noting that charging is limited to 3A. You won't be pushing any higher speed charging through this device
Bottom line: I really like these, and expect them to get quite a bit of use, particularly on our game consoles. The price ($14.99CDN -15%) at time of review is a bit of a premium, but it's likely worth it for the UGreen quality as well as their strong customer support. Excellent product.

- Reviewed in Canada on June 3, 2025These are decent USB-C/A (female/male) adapters that seem reasonably well-constructed without visible defects and for the most part work as expected without issues. They are fairly compact and small (as far as USB adapters are concerned) and I particularly like the fact that they have built-in tethering loop so they can be attached to a cable without being misplaced.
They are rated at USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 (10 Gbps, 10 Gbps verified) for data sync/transfer and 3A/18W for charging; however, these don't necessarily support PD (since USB-A lacks the pins/wires to support PD) or QC. As such, these adapters are primarily for data transfer only despite the fact that they can be used for charging as well. I should also mention that most of these USB-C/A adapters that support up to 3A do support 9V, 12V, or even 20V for a maximum of 60W (i.e. supports some form of quick charging); however, since they explicitly state that these are up to 18W only and I don't have plans to use these for charging anyway, no tests are actually performed to determine their true capabilities.
≡ Physical build
These adapters are reasonably well-constructed with an old school plastic/rubber shell instead of the typical aluminum alloy that you'd commonly see for USB adapters such as these. Nonetheless, they do work just fine although I can't be certain about their longevity especially if these are to be used for charging at their max power (18W) for extended period of time and/or for the long term (since plastic/rubber don't necessarily dissipates heat easier).
✘ Note that the USB-A end (even if it's connected to another adapter or extension cable) MUST be connected to a female USB port on the computer. These adapters will NOT work if the female USB-C port is connected to a computer (via a USB-C/C cable or other adapters etc.). Simply put, these adapters are UNIDIRECTIONAL and the male USB-A connector must be connected to a host device even if it's connected to another adapter and/or USB extension cable.
In addition, similar to most other USB-C/A (F/M) adapters, it might be necessarily to flip the USB-C cable/adapter if you do find the speed to be slower than 10 Gbps since USB-C by design will accept either orientation of the male plug and it's quite possible that only ONE orientation will work but not the other. So, if you aren't getting the speed expected, flip the connection and try again.
≡ Data sync/transfer
They support 10 Gbps data rate and that's significantly faster than most others rated for 5 Gbps. I have no issues connecting it to various USB flash drives and external disks or SSDs from various mobile devices as well as computers/laptops. They're capable of 1057.98 MB/s (8.46384 Gbps) for read and 1028.59 MB/s (8.22872 Gbps) for write from some quick tests with an NVMe SSD enclosure (rated for 20+ Gbps) so that's not too bad at all since the effective max speed is around 1100 MB/s, excluding encoding and link management overhead etc.
≡ [Quick] charging
They do NOT support PD (for obvious reasons mentioned above) and they claim to support up to 3A/18W, which is decent; however, no extensive tests are preformed since my use case for these is data only. That said, some quick tests do show that they can support at least 5V/2A without issues. Note that if you do require adapters that support much higher voltage such as 9V, 12V, or even 20V (3A is the highest supported for USB-C/A adapters such as these), these probably aren't your best bet and there are other options and/or alternatives out there that are capable of up to 60W/3A if you care to shop around.
≡ Value
All things considered, these are decent USB-C/A (F/M) adapters that seem reasonably well-constructed and for the most part work just fine without issues (for now). They're capable of 10 Gbps for data sync/transfer which is decent; however, these are not specifically designed for charging since they're only capable of up to 3A/18W (i.e. no PD/QC). That said, they do have a built-in tethering rubber loop, which I do appreciate and indeed that's one of the reasons for the order. They are somewhat reasonably priced at $15 (for a 3-pack) for what they provide and their overall build quality, usability, versatility, and performance. Your mileage might vary.

All three of the adapters tested the same.
Definitely worth the money if you need these kind of adapters.

5.0 out of 5 stars USB-C adapter that performs well for everyday use
A very nice and simple to use USB-C to USB adapter. All of my cables fit well into this, and it allowed me to use my type-C cables in my regular USB ports. The functionality remains the same, in that, I notice no difference or slowness when using these adapters. The quality of the housing is great, and there is even a little cable holder on this adapter to secure whatever cable you use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid little adapters
UGreen makes solid stuff, and these adapters aren't any different. With more and more devices going USB-C, its nice to have A to C instead of C to A. I have a webcam that is straight C, and I usually have open C ports on my laptop, but not as many on my desktop, and the cable is too short to make it to the back. Using one of these fits the bill! I'll have one in my bag and a couple in my desktop drawers!
