I've been using an older AC1300 USB adapter and getting decent speeds in my office - around 180Mbps down, but the old adapter was dying (thanks kiddos for bending the USB connector!) and I have a Wifi6 capable router now.

I tried a few different options but was seeing unexpected latency (ping spikes) that were obvious even in regular browsing. On Wifi6 this BrosTrend adapter got me my full 300/100 Mbps with no issues, on old wifi 5 router I got 205/100Mbps - still better than my old adapter!

Running a ping against google DNS (8.8.8.8) I see no spikes that I saw with other adapters I've tried. Everything is great so far!

It took me a long time to find out, but you can turn the antennas so they are facing parallel to the dongle itself. This is very important, doing this and switching the antennas 90 degrees turned my average speed from 600 mbps to around 1,000.

If I didn't find this out, I would not be rating it 5 stars. I hope that I saved someone some hassle with this review...If you do this then this item is very strong and great for the price.

It works... However, it will occasionally disconnect itself as if it was unplugged then reconnect, the connection will usually get quite slow just before this happens at which point I have to initialize this with switching the network then switching back to the original one. I have to repeat this process until it stops... It does however give me the same connection I had with wireless before on the built in wifi chip my pc has (moved cases and unplugged the antenna's which are a pain to plug back in).

I would say find another one. For $60 its pretty disappointing, I bought it because I needed a wifi connection ASAP at the time but I am not very happy with this, it usually happens late at night but even then. I have not figured out the issue, I've downloaded the driver when I got the device but not updated since (I don't know if there is an update but I can't find the website anymore).

Acabo de poner un sistema MESH con WiFi6 y quería aprovechar para mejorar la velocidad del WiFi que me llega a un PC situado en una habitación contigua al router. Utilizaba un mini-USB con el que solo recibía 80 Mbs (en subida y bajada).
Compré este adaptador porque era tribanda (2.4, 5 y 6 GHz) con lo que podía aprovechar el WiFi6 al tener instalado en el PC Windows 11. Mi idea inicial era poner una antena WiFi6 tribanda pinchada en un puerto PCIe de la placa madre, pero quedó descartado al tener poco espacio dentro de la caja del PC.

Mis impresiones con este adaptador USB han sido las siguientes:

- Si lo conectaba a un puerto USB 3.2 Gen1 (el típico de color azul) no he conseguido que pasara de 90-94 Mps. Casi nada de mejoría con la situación anterior. La conexión la hice en la propia caja (puertos traseros del PC).

Conclusiones:

Primero: parto de la premisa de que solo se puede aprovechar la opción de WiFi6 si tienes instalado Windows 11.

Segundo: en mi caso, solo he obtenido la velocidad esperada (situado a una habitación del router) conectando el adaptador a un puerto USB 3.2 Gen2 (de color verde), en el caso de no tenerlo, mucho me temo que la mejoría no sería significativa.

Finalmente, destacar que el tamaño del adaptador en relación al mini-USB que tenía, no es despreciable. He pasado de tener un pequeño botón en un USB a un adaptador que sobresale 8 cm con 2 antenas que se elevan 9 cm (tened en cuenta por posibles problemas de espacio tras la caja del PC).

Espero que dure tal y como ha quedado instalado.

Acabo de poner un sistema MESH con WiFi6 y quería aprovechar para mejorar la velocidad del WiFi que me llega a un PC situado en una habitación contigua al router. Utilizaba un mini-USB con el que solo recibía 80 Mbs (en subida y bajada).
Compré este adaptador porque era tribanda (2.4, 5 y 6 GHz) con lo que podía aprovechar el WiFi6 al tener instalado en el PC Windows 11. Mi idea inicial era poner una antena WiFi6 tribanda pinchada en un puerto PCIe de la placa madre, pero quedó descartado al tener poco espacio dentro de la caja del PC.

Mis impresiones con este adaptador USB han sido las siguientes:

- Si lo conectaba a un puerto USB 3.2 Gen1 (el típico de color azul) no he conseguido que pasara de 90-94 Mps. Casi nada de mejoría con la situación anterior. La conexión la hice en la propia caja (puertos traseros del PC).

This wifi 6e dongle is a fabulous buy at the price point. I'm getting 2001 on speed on my local network. I like the look and build is good quality. I did however have a wee bit trouble installing the driver but after completely removing it and starting again it is working beautifully. When I purchased the dongle it did say windows only. For all Linux geeks I can confirm RTL8188UQ is a chipper that does not work on Linux so therefore be aware windows only! Delivery was super duper fast and the box was sealed brand new as described. All in all this was a great buy saving over 50% less than other dongles at the higher price point on same spec. Having wifi 6 on 6ghz yotally opens up the performance of devices on the network. Thanks guys.
