These things are SMALL. But it's suitable for what I need. It is also very nicely made with excellent fit and finish on all parts. Nothing at all needs any sort of force or tweaking. One factor though is that the thin slitting saw blade has "metal working" very slight hollow grinding. For use on wood on this saw it's critical that the rip fence be dead on parallel to the side of the blade or the lack of effective set will cause the wood to ride into and press against the rip fence or ride away from the fence. This won't be an issue with the other blade with carbide teeth. Speaking of the rip fence while it does work the dual pinch screws make it highly annoying to use. I already made a new "T" style rip fence out of some aluminium L extrusion that registers the cross of the "T" against the front edge of the table and has a clamp to hold it. The fence itself is held with two screws and that lets me set the fence so it's very parallel to the blade. Well worth the effort.
I've not tried the carbide saw blade yet but the slitting saw removes so little material that it easily cut a piece of pine 1/2 inch thick. And easily cuts 3/8 baltic birch plywood. Not fast but with a smooth feed acceptably quickly.
