On my nans account but fr, I love this thing. I use to ball my yarn by hand because it was easier to store than just shoving the full or partial rolls into a bag or bin. This one only holds MAYBE 3oz if you go slow near the end. But whatever, it's far better and easier to store without it turning into the flying Spaghetti monster in your storage bin lmao. Everything is getting caked, all of it. I'm so over my yarn being a tangled mess cus my cats wanna play in my yarn bin. It's a Lil squeaky at times but not that bad. And I wouldn't use it for any SUPER chunky yarn as it can't hold much at a time. But for under $20 at the time I'm buying this I can't complain at all.

    Took me a minute to figure it out, at first it just wasn’t winding the way it is shown in pictures and other people’s reviews. Eventually I figured out it helps to tape down the end of the yarn along the middle so that the rest has something to grip to as you’re winding. That helps to create that perfect shape for me. (Maybe I just don’t know what I’m doing lol I’m a beginner). Also there is a distinct clicking sound every revolution that you make, I don’t seem to hear this in other people’s review videos but ultimately it does not affect its function, so as long as I’m not doing it super late at night the extra noisiness is not bothersome to me. It’s cheap and seems a bit flimsy but it gets the job done!

    This yarn winder worked well a handful of times and then it broke. I could see the wheel inside came off the track and that all I had to do was set it back on. Unfortunately there was no screw to take the top off. There was a bolt that was WELDED on to prevent me from being able to fix it. I had no choice but to throw it away. So wasteful and deceptive. Do not buy this.

    In the first try, I used a new skein of yarn to start off. However, it kept stopping and the handle kept moving and creating these loud pop noises. When I finished, the yarn was all loose but still in tact but took forever to finish.

    I decided to take a risk and took all the parts off and figured out that I could tighten the spring/metal piece that holds all the pieces together. I had to tighten the handle piece from the middle and that was it. Put all the pieces back together and voila. Less noisy and created a tighter ball of yarn.

    If this is something you can get someone to help you with proper tools or yourself, give it a try if your willing to risk it to make it better.
