    The bench is more of a medium brown, not caramel as pictured. The assembly instructions were missing, and I had to contact the manufacturer to have them emailed. Due to its placement, no matter how carefully you remove the big white upholstery tag, there are quite visible remnants that remain. There are visible screw heads on the sides of base and on the front and back edges of the tray. Even though they are painted black, it still makes the piece look cheap.

    We bought this mainly for use as an ottoman in front of the sofa, and it works fine for this purpose. It’s quite firm and uncomfortable as a seat, however.
