I had a VERY expensive Electric Vehicle charger AC cable fail on me recently. Repairing it would be MUCH more difficult without this product. This NEMA 14-30P plug is rated up to 250V AC and disassembles easily by removing 4 screws. Inside are the 4 conductors that accept the wires from the electrical cabling (see photo 1). Each has a screw terminal and the opening for the cable is fine for most any replacement cable I might want to use. It is very sturdy construction and fits perfectly into a standard dryer socket (see photo 2). That is not always a given - I have encountered improperly sized connectors from other manufacturers. A rare, well made part for those working with dryers or EV chargers. My highest recommendation.
The major problem lies in the fact that the plug is designed with the ground pin at the top end of its body. Therefore the ground wire has to pass in close proximity to two live connections. If this is an uninsulated ground wire (e.g. a dryer cable) you can see the problem. If you were using this plug with #10 cabtire cable, the ground will be insulated - negating this problem. Unfortunately, I don't think the plug would close around the thicker size of as cabtire cable.

Not the best made...internals are good. The screws & all are excellent. Now, The 4 fine bolts that hold it together though...not good. As I tightened them down, I had 2 snap in the middle. Too brittle & too small. Nothing I couldn't fix, but I shouldn't have had to.

Disconnector is used in many applications from ovens to RVs to electric car chargers. It seems to be a good quality plug-in. Made in China by a company I'm not familiar with. But so far everything is working out just fine.
