Installing a smart toilet was not in the immediate budget, and we didn’t want to undergo the headache of swapping out the whole toilet since it was rather new, so we got this seat.
Make sure you look at the measurements before purchase, and note that it is an elongated seat, not for round toilets. If you try to use it on a round toilet it will overhang in the front and not fit.
Installation is pretty simple. Simple add the bracket onto the underside of the toilet, remove your old seat, and then using the provided hardware, screw in the new seat.
The seat connects to your existing water line, and has all the necessary hoses/connectors. Note that if you do not have a shutoff valve on your toilet water inlet you’ll need to turn off the water at the main line which feeds the whole house. It is probably best to confirm your setup prior to starting your installation.
Plug has a GFCI test/reset built into it. This brings it to code for use in a wet area, however, it does add quite a bit of heftiness to the plug. It is rather larger, so make sure you have space for it. An electrician can easily throw a plug in beside your toilet if you’re willing to spend the money, otherwise check 鶹 for ‘sleek socket’ for a plug extension that lies flat against your wall (ensure the load is OK for the one you get).
Remote is really handy. It is quite large, but has all the features required on it with easy to understand visuals. It is magnetic so it easily snaps into the holder.
Night light is handy for when we have guests over. The lid closes over the seat to give it a really clean looking finish when it’s closed.
Great to have a nice warm seat on cold winter nights, and it feels so much fresher having a proper wash and dry after using the rest room.
Overall, this was a great compromise to add bidet functionality, a heated seat, and a dryer, without having the expense and headache or replacing my standard flush toilet. It is much cheaper than the big box ones too which have less functionality. Most of them only have the bidet without the heating, drying and nightlight yet for more money.
