I bought this just because I was curious to try it out and had never used a stove that used the 227 g butane cans. I've used this several times now with my heavier cast iron cookware which I had intended because the base looks very robust and it is. It's on the heavier side, 3 lb and not for backpacking by perfect for car camping and canoe camping which I use it for. The best part about it in my opinion is the simmer capabilities it is highly adjustable down to barely even a flame. Fuel is cheap and sometimes less than $4 a can on sale.

    This is a brilliant idea, yes, it is not the first but for me, it's my first one. This is great for space and holds still very well. I haven't been able to go camping yet but this is sitting in the 'to go' bag. Sadly, there is 1 major flaw. The gas can does not stay connected or lock into place, if you shake or move the burner then the gas will pop out. You can wedge a small towel in-between to keep it together but that is a problem that I hope gets fixed.
