Can the KVM Switch USB be connected to the hard drive?

Yes, it can, but you need to connect the power cable (USB C charging) to the power source for stable performance.
Can HDMI switch or USB switch be used separately?

Yes, when HDMI switch function is used alone, it is necessary to connect any USB B to A cable to the USB power supply or Type-c power supply port for power supply. The power supply requires a current of more than 5V/500mA.
Why does the screen turn black for a few seconds when switching?

The specific time depends on the computer speed and the response time of the display. If the monitor is 4K@60Hz, the screen will be about 5-7s after switching, and when the monitor is 1080P@60Hz, the screen time will be about 3-5 s after switching.
Can I connect the wireless keyboard and mouse with the USB interface?

It is possible to connect a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. However, since the computer needs to re-identify the Bluetooth device each time it is switched, it is necessary to wait several seconds after switching before using the mouse or keyboard.
Does this USB KVM HDMI Switch need power?

Yes, please connect at least one USB A to B cable for the power supply.

Solves the problem of 2 laptop and one external monitor. Though pricey at 6K but does the job what it says. Connecting the cables to laptops and monitor is fairly straight forward. Switching between laptops at the press of a button does takes 2 - 3 sec but guess that is not an issue and I don't think other KVM's can offer instant switch though not tested. The OS itself will take some time to detect the external monitor when switching hence the time. Cables are of good material and looks sturdy. It is being 2 days of use only but I am happy. Why I choose KVM , I have official and personal laptop and want to keep personal stuff away from official laptop, else we mostly end up saving personal data over period of time on official laptops as we use official one more often. Also it solved issue of switching wireless keyboard and mouse every time. Now I have keyboard, mouse, Headphones ( Wired) and External camera all connected to KVM and use them with both laptops. I have connected one USB hub to the KVM USB C port and able to add more devices like external HDD , Pen drive etc. ( Camera is added here only). Hope fully this works for at least few years to have the ROI.

Works with the Razer Death Adder mouse which my previous KVM switch didn't (I don't have the RGB lights on). Note - you don't need to use the USB C power (and no cable comes with it) - I understand power is only needed if you add certain things like a hard drive on but basic keyboards and mice should be fine.

The only downside is my old KVM worked with keyboard shortcuts so you didn't need to press a separate button. The button is ok though and is about 1m length.

The main unit has 2 small blue LED lights to tell you what you have selected - the button does not.

It works with 2560*1440p at 120 Hz.

The addition I really like is the 'remote' cable. I mounted it at the bottom of my desk. This way the switch can be placed somewhere hidden. I can now easily switch with a hpress of a button.

I combined this setup with a Ugreen dongle with hdmi and USB. I only need to connect 1 usb-c cable to charge my laptop and connect all devices. And with the KVM switch, I can switch between my desktop and laptop.
