So the actual length of the bag is 8" on the bottom layer that sticks above the front. It is two pieces of waxed paper that is glued on the sides and bottom. The room that is available for anything is about 5" wide by about 6 1/2". That is, if it is one flat cookie. If there is any more thickness, whatever is in there needs to be much smaller. Unfortunately, too small for my needs and had to be trashed, not returnable.
