    The ph meter being digital is much more accurate than a analog dial. It can be slow to respond, I stick it in the soil I'm testing wait about a minute for it to stabilize then do several areas and go by the average. It could use a nutrient reading on it like some others, but on the other one I tried it was very dubious as to the accuracy. Soil that I knew to be good it said wasn't that good, yet our crops are growing great, even better than last year at the same time. But I was mostly interested in the ph values so it fills my needs.

    I'm not convinced this device reads soil pH properly as it reads pH of 7.0, plus or minus 0.2 despite me spraying vinegar into the soil. The manufacturer/seller also states that you need to saturate the soil with water during the test to get an accurate reading, which I did, but it didn't help.

    The good:
    ? Arrived and it turns on without any issue
    ? Soil temperature readings seem to be accurate
    ? The light sensor is OK, but it only tells you whether it's bright or not, so is it really that useful?

    The bad:
    ? Batteries are *not* included. You need 4x AAA
    ? pH readings are likely not reliable. Vinegar soaked soil should not be a pH of 7.0.
    ? soil moisture is not really useful either. You pretty much have to soak it through for it to show it as being normal.

    I don't recommend this. I only want to measure soil pH and this doesn't seem to work as advertised.

    The product does work, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. When my soil is damp, the screen reads dry. It still leaves me with a bit of a guessing game on just how damp the soil is, which kind of defeats its own purpose. I basically just don't water until it reads dry+. Would return but I'm outside of the return window, so I guess I'm stuck with it.
