Health predisposition reports include both reports that meet FDA requirements for genetic health risks and reports which are based on 23andMe research and have not been reviewed by the FDA.     So I went a little crazy and for Christmas I bought myself this, an AncestryDNA kit, and a tellmeGen kit. So far this one has been the most user-friendly of all. They even include a return shipping label ready to go on the box, so you don’t have to deal with downloading and printing a label. I thought that was a really nice touch! The other two don’t provide that, and in fact it was a hassle to find the label for the Ancestry kit so this one is already way ahead. I don’t have my results back yet, but I’ve gotten familiar with the website/app and created a profile and taken care of some preliminary details. This kit and website seem to be the easiest and most detailed & user friendly of the three so far! I’m really excited to see what comes back for results. It looks like this one will provide the most information of the three as well. Looking forward to my results, and will update this review once I have my results back. But it’s a great price for the holiday season, so I definitely recommend this one out of the three so far! Best bang for your buck.

    I got this on Black Friday 2022 at 52% off. Sounded like a great deal received my kit and sent the sample December 8. I tracked the shipment as it flew between Indiana and California for what looks like two or three trips back-and-forth at one point I was told it’s being held in California. I ended up calling FedEx and they told me customs was holding the package and that it was not being allowed. That it was being sent back to the return address. I called 23andMe customer service. They basically told me my package was being held at customs. They told me they would figure out why it’s being held and have it delivered to the lab. A few days later, I received an email saying my package was being shipped back to Canada. That afternoon I also received an email stating it was delivered to the laboratory. All said and done it bounce back-and-forth almost 3 weeks. And then followed the lavatory steps through their app. I was given a date of January 12-26 for results. Today January 10 I’m told there was not enough DNA in the sample and then I have to start this whole process over. I called customer service see what they could do to make the situation better, they just helped me order another kit. They ask at the end what they could do to make their service better.. i said to add a free year subscription to the family finder portion of the app. Also don’t allow the sample to sit there for 3 weeks and then make the customer redo it and have to start all over.. he said he’ll mention it to the higher ups.. so Nothing. For what they charge they should be more organized..
    So I’d say think twice before you spend the money. I won’t be recommending this product to any one and will share my experience...-Dw

    I'm not impressed with 23 and me +membership. This was purchased as a gift for me.
    After I registered I was prompted to add my credit card information in order to get my result. 1 not impressed with this but figured I could cancel afterwards. That's actually not the case. You can not cancel your membership in the app on your own. I will receive an email 35 day before the billing cycle ends to make changes to my membership. Otherwise it will automatically renew.
    I spoke with someone on the support team. It felt like I was talking to someone who was purposely trying to talk in circles trying to confuse me and hoping I'd just leave the conversation.

    2. They asked for some of my demographic information prior to receiving my results.
    I had to answer this information before receiving my results.

    I'm really not impressed with how they are choosing to run the business. It feels icky and unethical.

    I have not received my results yet.

    It's really left a bad taste in my mouth.
