- Reviewed in Canada on October 9, 2023Verified PurchaseI’d read a lot of the reviews here before I made a decision and I’m glad I disregarded the negative comments. I often wonder about the ability of ppl to cope in the world - and the reviews seem to reinforce that
Why did I buy this? I had a toaster oven but wanted a microwave, wasn’t specifically after an air fryer but I had room for only one appliance and it had to be small for this space
So far I’ve used it in all modes in the 2 w I’ve had it and I like it a lot. The microwave power is less than a full size unit (what, you don’t say) so yes it take a bit longer to reheat. It’s toasts well which was where I thought it might fall down (I use the F1 preset and run for 5 min). The combi cooking mode also works well. For the price this appliance packs a punch
As far as criticisms in other reviews:
“It’s small”. Yes it is and the description and measurements are pretty clear
“I had a hard time getting things out”. Ok. It’s small. Use oven mitts and be careful
“The manual wasn’t clear”. Ok it’s not a hand holding sort of manual. But it is all there, and if you read it carefully and look at the recipes at the back as examples of HOW to use the features, it’s a big help. Could the manual be clearer? Absolutely yes
“It was hard to see the buttons etc”. Totally legit. This could do with an illuminated panel as it is hard to read in low light. Also, it’s not really clear where to push on the panel. That’s been a bit of trial and error.
Having said all of this, I think it’s a great bit of kit for the buck.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 6, 2025Verified PurchaseWe bought this model two years ago. Probably the worst microwave we've ever had. The dial timer does not work properly, constantly jumps around between numbers (sometimes even decreasing instead of increasing) making it a real struggle to set the cook time you want. Also after about six months we noticed a black ash like substance would fall onto the food from the inside top of the oven. This went on periodically for several months. Air fryer works well but microwave is weak at best, needs much longer cooking times compared to our old Danby.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 13, 2025Verified PurchaseCame back here to write my review after having this for 1.5 years. I would say that my biggest gripe is that the internal volume is considerably smaller than what you'd expect from microwaves of similar outer dimensions. However, for what you gain for it's second function as an air fryer, I think it was an ok trade off. It functions fine as a microwave, and functions also just fine as an air fryer.
Biggest advantage, and likely the reason you are buying this, is that you live in a small space and you need to optimize countertop space. You want a microwave, but also want an air fryer. For that, you get a pretty good combo appliance that saves you space for the same footprint as a standard microwave oven.
Big plus is also this works with "combi" cooking. Which is basically using the air fryer and microwave functions in one mode. They don't actually function simultaneously, but it instead switches between air fry and microwave through the time you set. This is actually great for certain kinds of cooking... Like ever get annoyed that when you air fry and you need a lot of time for something to cook all the way through? You can cut that time down with combi cooking. If you've worked in a commercial kitchen and ever used a TurboChef, it's the same idea... Except TurboChefs actually use the convection and microwave simultaneously for significant time saving. This is no TurboChef, but it comes close for domestic home use.
That said, we've thoroughly enjoyed using this. Still feel small for the internal cooking volume, but for a couple with no kids... it's perfectly fine. Only other annoyance I have is the dial to set the time and temperature... Would have preferred a number pad, but it works...
- Reviewed in Canada on November 8, 2024Verified PurchaseInside is a nice stainless look till you microwave something then its all sweaty inside. The only real complaint is the control pad...never seen something so badly made. Should be back lit when using cant find a dimer for the clock. When settings are depressed you have to feel around the pad for the SMALL contact rectange contact! If less time had been spent on so many quick buttons that most people never use they might have been able to get rid of that cheap dial knob. Im keeping it because of the size..that is good enough for a single user. Contrary to other reviews it will cook if one keeps in mind its a small apliance not a 1000w.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 30, 2021Verified PurchaseArrived on time. Well packed. No damage. Haven't used every function yet but extremely
happy with it so far. Used microwave and works as good as my old one. Used air fry feature to heat up left over pizza. Evenly heated through. Not soggy like it is in microwave. Used convection last night for 1 pound meatloaf. Done in 40 mins. Cooked through, juicy, and nicely browned on top. Would be nice if it was just a bit bigger but will work fine most of the time for 2 of us.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 29, 2022Verified PurchaseIt does the job of microwaving, I guess. Doesn't seem to be consistent in every spot, however. I've put in meatballs on a higher-than-recommended amount of time, and some have still come out cold in the middle.
My biggest gripe though is the dial that you have to use to set the microwave timer and clock. It's like the teeth inside the thing aren't lining up, so you often have to keep dialling and dialling until you finally hit the time to set. It's really cheap looking too. I wasn't expecting that when I bought it (didn't look closely enough at the picture).
Bottom line: I'll keep using it, but at the first sign of trouble I'm turfing it and getting another one. And I'll never buy Cuisinart again. Their name is why I bought it in the first place. So disappointing.
