The quality of this unit is just fine. I purchased this unit for separating wheel hubs and bearing from steering knuckles and I got it wrong, this unit is not large enough for that task. I would say that you need a slide hammer with a 10lb weight would be my guess, because when those old bearing are rusted in there you need Hercules to run that slide hammer. I just use this unit for body work now. I am going to buy a bigger one, in the meantime I buy completely NEW steering Knuckles and brand New bearing and hub assemblies because it makes it so much easier and less physically draining if you just buy all new parts for your front and rear bearing replacements on Multi-link suspension systems. This has been my experience, if your time means nothing, then wail away with this small slide hammer. But if time is money, I believe you need a larger slide hammer for suspension work, and I am talking about cars here, not trucks. This is MY opinion on the matter.
