The stands are quite sturdy. There are clamps on the side that are adjustable to keep the speaker in place. Double sided adhesive tape is supplied to affix to the bottom of the speaker. I found the height of the stands too high for my intended purpose but thankfully its possible to remove the lower of the two rods and just use the adjustable upper rod directly into the stand base. That works perfectly for me.
