This Noco 10x2 is a great charger with a higher amp rating than the older versions noco offers like the 2x4. There are a few drawbacks though so read below. It does offer higher amperage for faster charging but the higher the amperage also means the battery life wouldnt be as long as if it were a 2 amp charger. It however lacks the ability for quick connects/disconnects and is designed to be permanently installed in a vehicle for on board charging. Keep this in mind when ordering as it does not include clamps or disconnectable wiring. There are no included extension cables, absolutely bare minimum of accessories as these are designed to be mounted side by side to your battery bank. Whether they're being cheap, i dont know but i think for this price range they should have included all of the accessories. Its supposed to be disconnected from the wall or extension cord only. You can and what Ive done is purchase noco clamps to connect the charger to my various vehicles and keep them connected for winter... Not going to un screw them in every time i want to ride the atv or motorcycle. As a previous mechanic and one who loves to have his toys, a multi bank charger has been a savior. Previously I had to disconnect and connect to the next battery rotating constantly throughout winter, but with this charger I will have zero issues keeping them all maintained and thus the batteries in good condition for spring start up. A multi bank charger like this is designed to be purchased depending on how many batteries you have. So if you have a single battery in your bank, buy a single battery charger. 4 batteries? buy a 4 bank charger. The charger itself is extremely easy to use, simply select the type of battery in the vehicle(12v flooded, AGM, Lithium or 6v battery) and it will do the rest automatically, including desulfate and maintain. It also has a force mode when your battery is really dead, down to 1volt where it will attempt to revive the battery... Usually under a certain voltage the battery will be permanently damaged, but it might be able to help you get another few months out of it! Inside of the box there are no extension cables, clamps, or any assortment of terminals like their smaller multi battery chargers.. I do wish that it included some clamps as most people will probably need them. They are available though and but add up the price quickly. Safety features include integrated reverse polarity protection, a multi level safety firewall(protects from various conditions such as short circuits) and ignition protection(no spark, auto shutoff charger when starting vehicle). Every single terminal or clamp is fused as well! Overall it is a great charger with a top quality build and extremely safe to use. Keep in mind that this is not designed to jump start a car, it only provides 2 amps per output and no you cannot combine multiple to get more, it knows and turns off. I plan on keeping this attached to my garage wall above my bench forever, and with the included extensions, i wont even need to take the batteries out! Step 1 & 2: Analyze & Diagnose Checks the battery’s initial condition, including voltage, state-of-charge and health, to determine if the battery is stable before charging. Step 3: Recovery Initializes the Recovery desulfation process (if needed) for deeply discharged or sulfated batteries by pulsing small amounts of current. Step 4: Initialize Starts the charging process with a gentle (soft) charge. Step 5 & 6: Opportunity & Bulk Begins with opportunity charging at a high current, then steps down to the Bulk charging process based on the condition of the battery and returns 80% of the battery’s capacity. Step 7: Absorption Brings the charge level to 90% by delivering small amounts of current to provide a safe, efficient charge. This limits battery gassing and is essential to prolonging battery life. Step 8: Optimization Finalizes the charging process and brings the battery to maximum capacity. In this step, the charger utilizes multilayered charging profiles to fully recapture capacity and optimize the specific gravity of the battery for increased run time and performance. The charger will switch to Maintenance if the battery tells the charger that more current is needed. Step 9: Maintenance Continuously monitors the battery to determine when a maintenance charge should be initiated. If the battery voltage falls below its target threshold, the charger will restart the Maintenance cycle until voltage reaches its optimal state and then discontinues the charge cycle. The cycle between Optimization and Maintenance is repeated indefinitely to keep the battery at full charge. The battery charger can be safely left connected indefinitely without the risk of overcharging.
