1st time trying this product and I love it. I started struggling with dandruff over the summer after I got a sun burn on my scalp. Everything I have tried hasn’t helped until this product. I washed my hair first, used nioxin purifying exfoliate second and then conditioner third. Nioxin's lines of products are typically designed to thicken hair and stimulate the scalp. I have used their 3 step hair care and found it works to keep my hair growing in with less hair fall. I have very long hair but recently have had hair fall and some thinning. This seems to happen after I get sick with Covid. I purchased this scalp scrub assuming it would stimulate my scalp. The directions say to apply it to a dry head. I followed the directions (just last night) and I had to rinse grit out of my hair for two shampoos and had excessive hair fall in the shower. Clumps of hair came out. All day long my head tingled on and off. Maybe I cleared some product build up away, maybe the hair would have fallen out anyway, but there was a definite reaction to this product. Do not use it if you have a sensitive scalp and thinning hair. There is little in terms of product description included in the package, a problem I have with Nioxin in general. I want to know what to expect from a product rather than deciphering active ingredients on my own. Tell me about the ingredients and how they work together to achieve a result, I have come to expect it from product packaging. I still use the 3 step Nioxin system for thinning hair, but this isn't something I will use on my own head again. This did make the hair at my roots feel softer, but it was too cleansing and stripping for me. For psoriasis or dandruff prone hair this might be better, but again, not if you have compounded thinning concerns. If my hair stops falling out and I have sprouts of growth I will update with a better, more fabulous review. But this is my honest experience to date.
