Product Description

What is a neutral wire?

A neutral wire allows our switch to be powered while simultaneously allowing the lighting circuit connected to your lights to be power off.

Do I have neutral wires?

If your house was built in the mid-1980s or later, there is an excellent chance that you have neutrals everywhere in your home.
If there is an outlet (wall receptacle) near the switch, most likely that switch box has a neutral.
Switches that are ganged together have a much higher likelihood of having neutrals, no matter what year.

Checking the switch box

The best way is to check the actual wires in the switch box where you want to install Treatlife.

Please observe all safety precautions before handling the electrical wiring in your switch boxes.
Turn off your breaker box.
Take off the trim plate over the switch.
Remove the screws from your switch and pull out the existing switch to look at the wires.
If you see a white wire (or group of them), it is VERY likely that you have a neutral.

The only way to be absolutely sure that you have found a neutral wire is to check the voltage (110V/120V) between the white wire and the "hot" (usually black in color) wire in the box. In a standard switch/dimmer, the "hot" is using one of the two wires connected to the switch.

Got these for the modern look with no intention of using smart features, wires attached makes it so easy to clip into wago connectors but make sure box has room as these are very large. the lighted feature is puzzling, there single pole and double pole switches have the indicator lights on opposite each other. Wish there was a way to change so indicator light is only on when room light is switched off? The double pole switch puts light on when switched on lol? The switches plastic color is a slightly cooler white than standard white, not hugely noticeable but a slight annoyance trying to keep switches and wallplates matched. Then there is the safety and regulatory aspect to this item and many similar on �鶹��, how well covered are we as it’s often not clear if they have Canadian approval ratings? Despite these issues went ahead and used them as there is only these or Lutron switches if you’re tired of plain old fashioned looking paddle switches and want modern hi tech look. matched these with screwless wall plates, they do come with there own but rounded corners did not match other wall plates. luckily the bulk screwless wall plates on amazon fit over these no problem. Wish I had also gotten these in there 3way dimmer version instead of Lutron switches that have been very problematic with some light fixtures and treatlife switches dont use unlighted slave switches either unlike the more expensive lutron. So if Treatlife is listening how about also selling smaller dumb switches that look modern and have indicator lights and are in the common standard white?

The installation was great. The instructions are very straightforward even though I had a unique wiring set up existing. It took a little bit of thinking but got it to work.

As others have commented the back is a little thick, so you may need to get creative if you have a lot of wires in your gang box.

My only issue with the unit was the alignment of the frames. The units come with their own face plate, so if you're just installing one on it's own, it'll fit no problem. My issue arose when I tried to pair it with an existing switch. In the picture you'll see the bottoms (and tops) don't align, the smart switch appears to "sit" lower. To overcome this, I pushed the smart switch as high as I could while securing, and pushed the other as far down as I could while securing. I then had to use some force to get the face plate to sit proper and flush. You wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it, but a slight adjustment to the measurements of the frame would have fixed this.

Still a great product and worked seamlessly with Alexa.

As a long time Home Automation user, I installed a platform in 2010 (Insteon) in which my previously installed switches are starting to fail. I decided no longer to support this overpriced and unreliable platform.

Along comes Treatlife! And what a treat! These switches were very easy to install, and I was able to quickly integrate them into my home automation system. The devices respond to commands quickly, and easily integrate with my �鶹�� Alexa platform.

Being a WiFi device, I was concerned with reliability given how many devices I have in my house. I have over 100 devices on my LAN. There was no interference when I installed these devices, and they have been rock solid. I have some other devices which have reliability issues, and I was worried whether adding Treatlife devices may further reduce their reliability. No. I was wrong. They have integrated seamlessly and no adverse impact on my other devices.

These were great for a few months but in the past month or so I've had 4 go offline. Needs to be reset. Eventually it won't connect at all.

I'm disappointed. Unfortunately cannot recommend anymore.

Treatlife blamed my network. I have close to 50 of their devices. Most work but randomly they will need to be reconnected. Don't blame the customer. Once the defective units are trplaced they are ok. That said, too many need to be reconnected which totally defeats thr purpose. Go with another brand.
