This magical product is both repair and finish all in one for our DIY leather couch repair. We had to repair a badly worn seat and can you tell which in photo? Product filled cracks and the great thing about the product is you can mix colors (the color template as reference) for near original match. you need to be patient adding the colors, and for us the finish is semi-gloss that came up on our 3rd application. Coconix provided excellent support, and provided a new kit that had more colors including a red. The product repairs with the original leather pattern still visible, so not like when you paint and have just a smooth surface. Its low/no odor so no special vapor mask required and clean up was easy. I say we have a lot more life in our sofa that would otherwise be eyesore or terrible waste for landfill. Coconix CS provided excellent post purchase support!

    So I was repairing some damage to a brown leather recliner caused by cat claws. The colour chart is helpful but follow the advice and test first in a hidden area. Had to mix three times to get the best colour but as it is drying right now you can’t see the marks from 1/2 a metre away. The use of rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth is a game changer. Be gentle and slowly blend the edges and smooth the texture and the sheen. There is lots in the kit for this kind of repair. Easily saves me hundreds of $$$ in repair or replacement costs.

    I FINALLY used this product and must say it does work well. It may take a bit to find the right color you need to match your repair item you are working with. I used it on a pleather wing back chair on the seat and arms. It works best to tackle those cracks quickly and then it does look great and works. My item was a very dark chocolate brown so not sure what it would look like with a lighter fabric. I did have some cracks on the front of the seat that became bigger before I applied this product. I used the material provided in the box but found it didn't hold the two together because it buckled and was too much space, even after letting it dry for 24 hours as stated. I ended up putting some white glue in between to hold it down then placed some heavy books on top and that seemed to do the trick. I haven't sat on the chair a lot since then so don't know if it will hold but it seems to be now. The smaller cracks worked wonderfully.

    I took one of our leather covered dining room chairs to a repair shop; however the repair person said that it was not worth fixing. So I bought the Coconix Brown Leather and Vinyl Repair Kit. I think it a great product. Mixing the colours to match our chairs was easy and straight forward. I was able to rescue all eight dining room chairs! I am not a very handy person but I still got very good results. The kit had enough repair media to do all of the chairs and although they do not look perfect, they are fixed, functional, and looking pretty good. I recommend this kit.

    We had an area that started off as a split, that continued along into a crack that ended with the area where some of the "leather" missing in spots. The area was across the foot rest of a recliner, so not too noticeable when the chair was not reclined but very noticeable when the chair was reclined. The whole area that needed attention was about twelve inches with the very worst area being not more than a quarter of an i ch wide. I did follow the instructions using the rubbing alcohol to clean the spot first and then carefully trim away the loose flaps of "leather" before starting. I worked with the colour match chart that comes with the kit, however, the colours dry noticeably darker then the wet compound, as a result my colour match was too dark. This was not too difficult to deal with, being a crafter and painter, I can colour match paints pretty well once I understand the drying colour. The compound takes some time to dry, the directions state that the repair may take a few hours to a day or more, plan on a day or more... If it was just the split that I was doing the repair on, it was completed after two coats. however, the area I am working on is big, length wise so it will take me most of today as well because the dry time between coats is several hours. I will need to apply one more coat which will be four over the worst area, and the fourth coat is a very light skim coat to the majority of the repair area because each time I make up new repair compound and have to mix the compounds to get the right shade of leather, so need to have it uniform in colour across the entire width of the repair, so have to reapply to the entire repair area..... I did find that mixing the compound in a disposable white paper plate worked better then attempting to mix in the container provided, I also found using the flat fat end of a wooden skewer worked best to mix the colours and to apply the compound. Using the white plate made it easier ti see the true dry colour of the mix which was extremely helpful, and I could bring a larger area of the mixed colour up against the leather for the colour match, also very useful. After I applied each coat I lightly blotted the wet compound with a paper towel to remove some of the excess from around the repair area and to help blend the repair compound into the rest of the leather on the foot rest of the recliner. Using the paper towel to blot the excess was what led me to discover how much darker the compound colour turned when it was dry and drying... For all of the "fixes" I ended up inventing along the way I have not rated the product too high, I am not sure how well the product will "stick" to the leather itself, time will tell. Although it is a simple product to use, mix and apply, unless your colour is black or dark brown the mixing process is not easy and I think some buyers would find it difficult to match batch after batch if you need to reapply several times. I think just gluing the edges and applying different brown coloured pens from my art kit would have been as good a fix, faster and much easier.

    I really fell for the snake oil on this one. I thought this kit would have the ability to fix up and hide a small amount of flaking of my RV driver's seat surface - instead I spent countless hours trying to get the tan color matched until I ran out of black and white tint. I never did get the color matched, despite the color wheel. Just when you think you had it dialed-in, you'd apply it to your small test spot, looked very close, walk away and let it dry. Come back once dry and it's WAY darker and no where near a matched color. Rinse. Mix. Repeat - similar result. Over and over. Total frustration. If you don't have straight black or white leather, this stuff is near impossible to work with. I had an off-tan color, with a sort of grey tinting to it and I spent a lot of time trying to mix the proper color to no avail. Very disappointed, and back to the drawing board a few dollars short. Not impressed.

    Wow, just wow. I was a bit apprehensive as a number of local businesses had declined to repair as the tear was 'too big' (20mm) so thought I'd give this a go. It looked so easy and great videos online to help explain the process and off I went... 10 minutes (seriouy) later and the repair was installed and then waiting to dry/cure. Next morning ... the cut was almost impossible to find. I'd highly recommend 👌
