I purchased a Ninja Blender in August 2023. In September 2024 I filed a claim as the blender had an error code and it was leaking. I called Asurion unsuccessfully a few times before i finally got connected to the correct department. Their instructions are flawed because I purchased from 鶹 Canada and all their instructions point to 鶹 US which will not recognize my plan. so that was my first issue with Asurion. Once I finally got the right person, they asked me to ship the product to them which I did. Getting the shipping label was another fiasco. After waiting well over a week with no news I tried to follow up. Online it said my request was complete but yet I had heard nothing from them. I finally got in touch with someone after another run around due to this being 鶹 Canada. They said that a mistake was made and that the request was not complete. They escalated and said they would get back to me. After a few days they sent me a note and a voicemail saying they were reimbursing me for the cost of the product and would be mailing me a refund. Thier policy says they will replace or refund the product. I went on 鶹 and found the product is still available for exactly the same price. However Asurion insist on sending me a refund and not replace the product. I also found out after speaking with them that my 4 year plan that i am only just a little over a year into is now cancelled. So instead of sending me a replacement and keeping my plan in place their scam is to reimburse me and cancel their plan, they say that their commitment is fulfilled. What a scam. i wanted everyone to be aware of this as it is very misleading on their advertising on 鶹. It may say this in the fine print but that is only after you have already bought the plan, nothing to tell you in advance. Good thing your car insurance does not work this way! Think twice before buying these plans.
I hope not to use it. I prefer a device replacement if it stops to work, because we put food inside. They will try to fix the machine. Anyway is good to have insurance for it
I purchased a 4-year warranty from Asurion for a FoodSaver vacuum seal machine. A little over a year after this, a plastic piece inside the FoodSaver Broke, and I phoned Asurion. I was asked for some details about the purchase of the policy and the product. Was told my claim would evaluated. Two weeks later, and no response, I phoned again. I was told I needed to provide documents proving what I had purchased and when, and how much. Given that Asurion had sold me the policy for a certain cost and on a specific date, I wondered why Asurion did not know what the policy was for. I did screen grabs of 5 - 6 emails from 鶹. Within a week, I received an email telling me I needed to produce the information I had just sent. When I was told to produce the information a third time, my tone on the phone was getting testy. The next day I received an email that my claim had been approved. The day after that, an email arrived with a link to provide a no-cost shipping label so I could send the FoodSaver to Asurion, and the assurance that 72 hours after receiving it, I would receive my refund. I clicked the link, and the message said that "Here's your shipping label. Could not find the shipping label, please try again later". I waited a few hours and tried again with the same result. Tried several times the next day, and on the third day phoned - again. This time I was told that Asurion's email was down. But if I would provide my home address, Asurion would mail me the shipping label.... within the next five business days. This, less than a month before Christmas, and five days would not likely get the letter past the next state or provincial boundary. So as of this writing, I have nothing to show for my investment in product insurance except multiple requests for information and a shipping label that "is in the mail". I will never again purchase from Asurion. If you decided to make your own purchase in spite of my sad tale, you have been warned.
