I am feed up for a fourth time. Even after one question the compagnie representative answered me, impossible to find a minimaly decent photo media tv displayer, as existed year ago, but now no more available. Are these Chinese junk made purposely wrong? This one, as some previous media player I tryed, is displaying some photo on the side, even tough my original is properly oriented. Another problem is that some photos are displayed at the size of about a postal stamp. Here is more problem. It is impossible to display the title of the picture that is showing on the tv screen. Remote contain an OSD as well a touch button label aA, offer as a solution may be, but of no use. Because both are marked as a forbidden action when beeing pushed. And here as well as always, forget about a real decent user manual. Forget also about loading a new operating system, since this machine has no wi-fi, neither ethernet facility. It does not even offer a way to manually reset the apparatus. How come on �鶹�� there is no description offered about all of these many essentials subjets.

So I bought this to stream movies and TV show episodes to my TV in the RV via a HDMI switcher. The UI is simple and easy to navigate, menu easy to understand, I didn't need the smallish manual at all is was so simple. The video quality is full HD at 1080p @60 Hz, with most other resolutions available if needed, in both Pal and NTSC. Not a lot of options on audio, seems to send audio in RAW as it sent DTS 5.1 thru to my AVR. Have only used it for a couple of hours but so far liking it as it will do what I need, can't get it to 'see' my 256GB SSD formatted in FAT32 but sees the 128GB SD card just fine. Also it won't see my USB DVD player, but that may be that it is not supported as I only see an option for a CD Disc player, would be so nice to have it play a DVD via the USB port then I could do away with my large player in the RV which we rarely use, but to be fair nowhere does it say it supports a DVD player. Don't need CD support as almost everyone now uses thumb drives for music storage on the go. All in all this is a great little video file player and I am sure my issue with the SSD is formatting, it must need a MBR formatted HHD.

Update: Turns out I got a dud. I tried changing back to 1080p 60hz and it crashed hard. after unplugging it and plugging it back it several times, it finally came on, but the IR sensor was shot, so with no built in buttons it was bricked. �鶹�� was quick to replace it, and now I have no problems like I had with the first one.

Also, to get rid of the ._ files open CMD on windows, type f: then enter (or whichever drive letter the harddrive is set to) type " del /s /q /f /a .DS_STORE " then enter and then " del /s /q /f /a ._* " and they will all disappear. apparently these files are cause by macs and windows just ignores that they exist where other things can still see them.

Original Review:
As some reviews have stated, it came set to PAL, but I did not have to go to setting to change this. All I did was press the HDMI button on the remote. I still went into setting to play with it, as it defaulted to 720p.

I changed it to 1080p 60hz, and first problem came up. I open a show, and at first it played fine, but over the 30 minute show, purple lines show up, slowly taking over the screen. I checked to make sure it wasn't the file on my computer and the file was fine. change it back to 720, and everything was fine.

Second problem is made a ._filename copy of every file on the hard drive, that is only 4kb each. you can not see these when you plug it into a computer. This is not a big deal except it is a little annoying having to scroll past all of the fake files to get to the real ones.
