Installation steps:

STEP 1: Insert the fastener into hte chassis after tearing off the yellow protection wrap of the chassis,the fastener and the code wheel.

STEP 2: Install the code wheel and fix the motor to the chassis .(Attention,the copper sheet of the leading wire of the motor should face outward,the same side of the wheel)

STEP 3: Fix the motor to the chassis ,then insert and tighten the screws.

STEP 4: Insert the screws and fix the battery container.

STEP 5: Insert the spacer and tighten the 8 screws to fix the hammer caster.Hold tight and insert the motor(protection fastener) to the wheel .

Ordered 10 of these for a birthday party. Overall quality was quite good - the wheels are big and chunky, and the motorized gearboxes work smoothly. The acrylic platform is a good size, and looks great.
Out of the 10 boxes (20 motors), the only real problems were that one box was damaged (one bumper corner was cracked -- not critical), and one motor had skipping issues. For most of the acrylic platforms, the switch sat a little loose and required some glue to stay put.
Would buy again, though, especially for the price.

If you are looking for an inexpensive platform to use for your electronics project, this is a reasonable choice. It is important though to understand the limitations. These are gear motors. That means you will not be able to precisely start or stop them. In fact you'll have to move the vehicle at a fairly fast rate to overcome static friction. The pivot wheel will not move as freely as you like. So sometimes your vehicle will consistently turn to the left as you move forward, and sometimes to the left with the exact same power settings. Neither end is wide enough to mount multiple sonars, so if you want collision avoidance for multiple angles, you will have to get creative. The motors sit rather low, so you cannot drive across anything other than nicely paved surfaces. There are no screws attaching the wheels, so they will tend to fall off after lots of turns.

My son used this for a mobile sonar platform. It was an adequate choice. But he would have been better of with something round using step motors. Then he could have had sonars in all directions and rotated the vehicle rather than rotating a sonar on-top. His collision avoidance would have worked at all angles, and he could have precisely programmed the movements of the vehicle. Instead he went with timed operations, which means the best he could do for a 90 degree turn is +/- 10 degrees. He can still add a gyroscope to compensate, but it is a much more complicated design.

I am still giving this 5 stars, because for the price it seems like a good deal.

This kit is worth the price. Everything came ok, well packaged and everything but the instructions weren't good, i recommend watching a youtube video.
You won't be able to do anything with just this, other than turn on the switch and let the motors run but im guessing that would damage them. You should get an HBridge to be able to control them, not to mention the actual arduino board.

While im making this review, i would like to say that one of the motors stoppeed working after a day of use, so i dont know if thats bad quality or just mine... Seller, could you please send me another motor??
