Does this pocket microscope work on 3D (not flat) objects?

YES, but practice focusing and examining flat objects first.

A 3D object will work if placed near (but not inside) the bottom of microscope (clear part), but if you pre-focus the microscope on a flat object first, it will be much easier.
I'm looking at an object like a stamp and image is upside down / reversed. Is that right?

YES, most microscopes do this.

For handheld microscopes, the optical system flips and reverses the image, while magnifying it. This allows for an affordable and compact design. The microscope isn't broken, that's just how a pocket microscope works
What kind of things can I review with this microscope?

The MicroBrite can examine a diverse range of subjects, such as fabric, grass, sand, hair, skin, bugs, stamps or even a pineapple or worm! You can even observe larger microorganisms like bacteria, blood, germs, paramecium and euglena!
Can I use a smartphone with this microscope to take images and video?

The MM-300 version does not have a smartphone adapter, but you can buy the MM-310 adapter separate to work with it OR you can buy the MM-350 that comes with both the microscope and the smartphone adapter.
How do I get the best image when focusing with this portable microscope?

Always practice focusing on a flat object at the lowest power setting. Slowly turn the knob until you get close to seeing a focused image. Then turn the knob extremely slowly to get the perfect focus. Then up the power setting and slightly refocus.

This microscope is very portable. You truly could take it everywhere. More than sufficient for viewing plant structures like trichomes, pistils, pores, etc... My criticism of it is as follows; the product is listed as "metal construction" which is why I purchased it in the first place as I will invariably drop it at some point. Don't do that. The ONLY metal used in the construction of this product is the wiring and battery contacts for the led light. I REALLY have issues when any product on �鶹�� is represented falsely, and it seems to be more the norm than an exception, lately. While I am of the opinion that mistakes will be made and can be forgiven, if you are selling products on a platform like �鶹�� you need to be accurate with your descriptions. Would have given the microscope a higher rating, but I despise being mislead by a seller. If you are misrepresenting the construction of a product you are selling, what else should I expect you to be hiding?

TLDR Conclusion; product is good. Does what it is supposed to do at a fair price, but don't buy it with the expectation of durable metal construction as stated in the listing above. Seller needs to revise their description of it. There are less expesive ones on �鶹�� which will do the exact same function for literally half the cost.

This is an incredible little unit, very powerful magnification and clear image. LED is bright almost to the point of being too bright for viewing some more reflective surfaces. However, having used bulky tabletop microscopes that required slides with exceedingly poor lighting (weak light, even less effective mirror) in the past, this is a welcome change. Simply place it against the subject and view. Very simple and intuitive use of magnification and focus dials and on/off light button. Quality feel, robust materials, expect it to last for many years. The price is VERY reasonable. Bought one for both of my grade school aged children as Christmas stocking stuffer presents and they have had a great time examining any number of personal, household, and outdoor subjects. As a layperson I assumed the more powerful the magnification the better, however, for some subjects the magnification is almost too much and is a little disorienting for the viewer. Would probably have bought a less powerful magnification if I had of realized how powerful it would be. Overall very pleased with the delivery speed, the delivery packaging and condition, and the product itself. Excellent value.

This scope is so compact and powerful and has great image clarity(some people not familiar with micro scope use will say the image is not in focus at high magnification. This is not the case, the image comes into perfect focus but has a very small depth of field, which means if you have a larger specimen under the scope only a small portion of the specimen will be in focus so you need to focus up and down ). It performs best on flat prepared microscope slides where depth of field focus is less of a problem.
I bought this for my grandson but I like it so much I'm buying one for myself and.looking for a lower power version also.

What a cool little device. This is handy to carry around and it really gives a great image of things up close. I took these pictures with my old Samsung Galaxy S4, which is a lower pixel camera, looking down through the eyepiece. The first is looking at a black ink-pen line of the top of a letter "a" on my note pad that is sitting on my desk. The image still looks OK, but the real view of it looks even better. The paper looks perfectly smooth to the eye, yet in the magnifier it has mountains, valleys, and individual fibers, and you can see how the pen colored in some valleys but not others. The second picture is of a picture on a video-game box cover. Again, the real image through the lens is far clearer than the image from the S4, but it gives you a rough idea of how you can zoom in on just about anything. For the price, this is an excellent microscope to take with you in your pocket. The light is plenty bright enough for any situation, and the optic quality is amazing. There is no distortion or discoloring around the edges.
