Very Versatile and Practical

Very Versatile and Practical
I picked up this watch to help keep time in tests and fitness activities, primarily. It's very lightweight and small, which means it can be worn loosely without it trying to roll around all the time. This is convenient as sometimes I wear it reverse, and I prefer to not have a watch that constricts my wrists. The strap is more than long enough for me to wear loosely, and has a soft texture that is neither slick nor sticky. It's a very comfortable watch to wear overall. This watch also happens to be non-conductive, from my tests, with the plastic body and resin strap. The clip on the strap seems to be made of a hard plastic that shows as insulated according to my meter, so I feel comfortable having it on when working with electronics. I find the interface perfect. Crisp and clear with larger time and slightly smaller seconds digits make it very quick for the eye to pick up on the time. The day of week and current date are all you really want to know (I'm usually aware of the year and month!), so the display is not cluttered by additional numbers you don't need. Note that you do input the month when setting the time so that it keeps track of the date properly. The watch also has some character, most notably the classic 80s/90s styling. The backlight is sufficient for telling the time in the dark (though the seconds are pretty dim), so it's better than not having it at all -- but it's comical how dismal it is. By the same token, I get a kick out of all the features listed on the watch face, as if you need to be reminded it has an alarm and chronograph at all times. The value is very good, at around CAD $15.00 with Prime shipping (which was great, as always!). In fact, I bought a second one to gift to a friend. The only things it would benefit from is a countdown timer and the electroluminescent backlight from the other models.

    I'm an electrician by trade, and a wristwatch is a necessity. Increasingly, job sites have a no smart phone policy, and when I have to decide whether I have time to start a new job or if I should start it after lunch, it wouldn't do to have the foreman catch me looking at my phone while I'm on the clock when a discrete glance at my wrist will keep me looking professional.

    Generally, I prefer analog watches, like the MRW200H, but when I have to work outside in the freezing cold, there is no better choice than the classic F-91W. I want a thin, small watch I can wear under all the layers I need to wear to keep warm. At a glance, this watch tells me everything I need to know; the time, day of week, and day. It's easy to set to 24 hour mode with the press of a button. Being all plastic in design, including the buckle, it's safe for me to wear this watch around live circuits. If it gets smashed on the job, it's cheap and easy to replace. If it gets caught on something, the band will break before my wrist.

    Being a Casio, this watch has proven to be accurate, rugged, and reliable. When it comes to cheap digital watches, why buy something that's obviously cheap when you can wear this timeless classic? Perfect for any working class person, even the idle rich consider this a "Trendy" watch to add to their collection. Not that you should buy it to be trendy, but rather because it represents timekeeping perfection for the needs of the working class majority at its best.

    I love this watch's minimalist sensibilities. At a glance, it tells me everything I need to know. It incorporates a decent stopwatch, with a resolution down to 1/100th of a second, which is much more than I'll ever need. It has an alarm and an hourly chime, which I'm sure some people will like; I use the alarm as a backup in case my regular alarm clock fails to get me up in the morning, and the hourly chime keeps me on schedule when my watch is buried under layers of warm winter clothing. It's easy to synchronize this watch, but given that it's a Casio, it's not very often that I've had to re-synchronize it, as it's been incredibly accurate.

    There is a light, but it's a side-lit LED. Most digital watches have an electroluminescent display, but this comes at the expense of the thickness of the watch. The tiny green LED provides perfectly adequate illumination for the hours, and barely adequate illumination for the minutes, but it's doubtful I'll be able to time any marathons in the dark of a new moon.

    On my average wrists, I have four holes left in the band and can easily find a comfortable size; however, those with large wrists might think this band looks a bit too thin. It's easy to replace, and instead of getting an ugly cheap digital watch, I think it's smarter to put this timeless classic on a bigger band.

    Overall, this is a perfect digital watch for any tradesperson, anyone who does actual work for a living, or even for those who "WORK" is a four letter word and they simply want to look sensible. It's the timeless classic for everyone, and if you haven't bought one for yourself by now, don't be surprised if someone questions your intelligence.

    I bought this watch for times when I was doing outdoor rough and tumble stuff. I have other watches for dress, but this little watch was a real surprise performer. It has been totally reliable and worked well after all sorts of abuse. I cannot recommend this enough. For the price you pay it is an absolute steal, you won't be disappointed. It puts a Seiko I have to shame. If I have to mention a downside, I'd say getting you're head around the buttons can be rather interesting, and the back light isn't great. But the positives easily outweigh those negatives. I don't know how Casio can produce such a little gem for such little money. One of my better buys.
