- Reviewed in Canada on January 9, 2024Verified PurchaseThis is a great extractor set, apart from the smaller extractors.
I have used this to remove larger plugs and snapped bolts with ease. However, the smaller extractors will easily snap if you are not careful.
Overall this is a decent set for the money. Just make sure you use heat and/or penetrating oil with the bolts you are trying to remove to reduce the risk of snapping the extractor.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 12, 2024Verified PurchaseFirst time using the product and the spline drive broke off inside the bolt. Removing a dust shield bolt on a semi truck. The bolt was turning but bound up on the rusted threads and snapped. Cut both ends of the bolt off so it could no longer bind up. Drilled through the center of the bolt. Heated around the bolt then inserted the spline drive till it got a good bite on the bolt for removal. A few whacks with a hammer around the bolt to jar the threads loose. Carefully bumping the wrench on the spline drive rather then reefing on it till it breaks. The spline drive still broke. Brand new tool. First use. This bolt was turning already so its not like it was seized in. I'm not a snap on guy but in this case I've learned you do get what you pay for. The reviews miss lead me to believe it was a good buy. 23 of 24 bolts removed so I dont think this broke from operator error. Picture is of the bolts/dust shield. Writing the review after work and did not take a picture of the broken spline drive. Penetrate, heat, hammer, wire brush and wheel were all used to extract these bolts with my best effort not to break them.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING! Removed high-quality carbon steel bolts on the first try
Verified PurchaseThis is one of those things you don't want to skimp on and this was well worth the cost.
I had to remove armrests from a high-end office chair and what should've been a 5-minute procedure turned into at least 2-hours. Not only were the stripped bolts made of high-quality Carbon Steel with high strength and anti-corrosion, but they also had thread lock on them.
Once the new extractor set came, I drilled a slightly deeper hole with an M42 drill bit (also for very hard metal) and twisted the extractor in by hand. After a quarter of a turn, it bit in so well, I didn't have to tap it in with anything. I removed it with a small handheld, multi-socket tool in a few minutes. It would've been quicker, but I had to address the nut on the other end that kept spinning as I was trying to remove it. That too, was impossible to get at so I shimmed it to keep it from turning.
I've spent countless hours, if not days of my life removing broken and stripped nuts and bolts and it's no fun. This set made it easy and fun again! Also, if you're going to buy an extractor set, get a set that works for the worst case scenario. That means being able to remove automotive-grade bolts. Same goes for the drill bits. This way, you'll be able to use them on any type of metal. The cheap sets break and wear down so fast if you use it on anything besides cheap, soft metal.
Thanks a lot for making a product that finally works!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful toolset for transmission drain and fill plugs
Verified PurchaseVery useful set to extract transmission drain and fill plugs. An example here is an extracted BMW E90 - 328i transmission drain plug. Due to overall rotation wear and tear, expect these heads not to last long. If one head spins and does not extract the plug, I move on to the bigger head and pound it in, then rotate.
Worth every penny. Solved my problems. On the photos: extracted drain plug next to a new BMW transmission drain plug and set of tools used.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it!!!
Verified PurchaseNot worth the price or headache!!!! Junk!!! Good idea, but made of crappy metal.
Snapped off at the point where the Hex Head meets the Screw Extraction part when removing a 12mm bolt.
Heavy duty bolt cap had wrung off.
I couldn't drill through the Extraction part. Had to eventually grind through the whole area.
One star because it would probably work for light duty bolts that aren't very stuck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set
Verified PurchaseThis set works great, saved me a couple times already getting broken bolts out. I love that it has a chart that shows what drill bits to use with each extractor. I recommend this product.
