Level and Stack Layered Cake

Cutting perfectly even cake layers has never been easier. Leveling and torting a cake sounds intimidating, but it��s actually pretty simple. Use the Wilton Cake leveler to define the size of each layer. Purple side adjustments allow you to choose the thickness of each layer. Adjust up or down for custom sizing. Simply slide the leveler through your cake to remove crown and level and torte layers. Stack the cake layers with icing, fruit, pudding or other fillings between to add flavor and height to your cake.

This actually isn't my first cake leveler. My first one was the fold up one by Wilton and that was terrible. I wouldn't want another one of those even if they paid me. It just wouldn't level a cake and was extremely flimsy. After cutting through a cake, it would just have to do it again with a knife so it's even and leveled.

This, however, was great. It was small, cute, did exactly what I expected it to do and did a good job. If you need a small cake leveler, just get this one.

Works perfectly. I wish only that it was a wider, as I do sheet cakes, and odd shaped cakes. It did not, for example, have the required width to handle the cross cake I made for a church service. To make it work I cut each extension of the cross independently (the levelling feet help keep all the cuts the same height) and then cut on an angle to get into the crossed section in the middle. To do this cake, which is not an abnormal size, just an unusual shape, the leveller product would have needed to be about two inches wider. The handle is not the best way to move the thing. I found that holding the sides provided much more control.

Generally, recommended, and the reduction of one star is because of the size -- somewhat bigger would be better.
