Correct for my unit
5 out of 5 stars
Correct for my unit
Both of the shafts need to be cut back,as was probably done at the factory. One quick connector had to be saved from the old motor and one wire terminated as factory. Additional parts required was two 16-18 gauge shrink butt connectors and a 16 gauge termination terminal. About 5 inches of copper strap to make a new holder for the new capacitor, as it is oval and original is round. Very easy replacement.

Highly recommended. I repaired my 18 year old HRV system for about $300 with tax vs a full fan assembly replacement ($650+) or a new HRV ($3000 installed). Note that when I turned on the repaired HRV it had a slight vibration. Puzzled, I took it out the fan assembly, loosened and re-tighted the fans on the shaft, tried again and no luck. I went to bed thinking perhaps that the shaft was out of balance. I tried the same procedure again a few days later and voila, the vibration was gone. Note also that I used the capacitor supplied and mounted it sideways so it would fit in the fan housing.

This replaced the fan motor in a VanEE air exchanger. The company I called wanted over $500. for the part alone. I have some skills that certainly helped, but this was an exact replacement part and installation was not that difficult with the proper tools.
The motor came with a capacitor, which i did not see from the description, so I ordered a capacitor as well and ended up returning it with the related charges.

My vanEE 90H HRV motor died after 22 years. I decided to try find a replacement motor and do it myself. After some research on the model and specs, I found this Rotom motor. Thanks to the reviews on it, I felt confident it was the right one. The shaft length was identical to the old one and all mounting screw holes lined up perfectly. As mentioned in other reviews, the wires don’t come with connectors specific to the model of HRV, but that’s understandable, so make sure you have a way of splicing the wires, whether crimp splicers or solder. The wire colouring was identical to my old motor, so that made the job easy. I did a test by hooking up the motor before installing to ensure it worked. I also noticed that some reviewers said they didn’t receive a capacitor with their motor, but that was not the case for me. I did get a capacitor with mine. I didn’t actually use it, but will be keeping it as a back up since the original was still fine. This job, from start to finish, including cleaning of the HRV interior, disassembling the housing and removing the motor, re-installing the new one, is about a 3 hour job.

I had to find and book multiple electricians to come switch over the wires, as the product does not arrive ready for install. Then I had to hire HVAC specialists to install the unit into my air exchanger. All this took over 60 days because of where I live and availability of technicians.

Unit only hums and overheats. Obviously defective. Seller has not contacted me back and now I've spent well over $1k on this useless unit and getting others to install it only to be told 'I'm past the 30 days' and contact the seller. I did. No response. Do not recommend, very disappointed with this entire experience and product.

Perfect fit for my Venmar Constructor.
  • Reviewed in Canada on November 13, 2024

The motor arrived very quickly and worked very well however there was no capacitor included in the package. After reading various reviews it appears that sometimes a capacitor is included and sometimes not. It needs to be made clear in the item description whether or not a capacitor is included as the current description is very misleading in that a capacitor is shown in the photos. The repair (motor replacement on a Venmar air exchanger) was therefore not done as timely as hoped or expected because a new capacitor had to be purchased first.

Perfect drop in replacement for my air exchanger. I just had to modify a few wires to match up with my original wire harness. I'll definitely buy another for a spare.

My old motor burned out after 21 years of use. The company no longer makes the unit or replacement parts. I saw a review on 鶹 that this motor would replace my old one. The only difference is the old motor as 1/15 hp and this one was 1/17 hp. Took the housing unit out and wired the new one in and working like a charm. The motor cost was approximately $140 and a new air exchanger would have cost $1600 . This is well worth the price and easy to install.

During work on the higher speed it is quite hot. The attached capacitor is quite big. Apart from that everything is ok :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Exact fit for ERV100HC with Fasco 7190-1359 02101 motor
Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2025

Exact replacement for a Fasco 7190-1359 02101 motor on a Broan ERV100HC, which the blower assembly was discontinued in 2016. Just have to dissassemble the fan unit, and then reverse the process.

You'll need to splice the old motor harness connector onto the wires. For this specific ERV, you'll need some thermal transfer grease for the heat sink, and some single sided 1/8" thick foam tape to dampen/isolate the assembly.

Remove the squirrel cage fans with a 1/8" long tee-handled hex wrench, through the blower opening. Rotate the fan to find the hole that aligns with the fan set screw. You may also need some penetrating oil to help break the fan free of the shaft which has probably corroded a little. It may also help to use some 320 grit sandpaper to remove rust/polish the shaft before removing the old fan.

$800+ for a replacement blower assembly... $1000+ for a replacement ERV. Less than $200 and a little elbow grease for this motor, the tape and the grease. No brainer. Saved a lot of money, and only took about 2 hours total.

I live up north and we recently saw temps in and around -10 to -30 for what feels like the past 2 weeks. Lots of frost on our windows indicating a moisture problem. Discovered our Broan air exchanger fan was seized up... a new HRV unit seemed to run anywhere between $600 for a cheap one on up. The complete Broan HRV fan assembly looks to run about $500 online.

I found this motor which matches the Supco fan p/n 06946 or model 71902271 for around $115 I believe. Took me 3 days to get the part shipped to my house. While waiting I removed my old fan assembly from the Broan unit and sprayed the shafts and all screws with WD40. Once I received the new motor, i had it up and running again within 90 minutes.

You will have to cut the old harness off the old motor and attach it to the wires on the new motor. Orange to orange, blue to blue, green to green, etc... not very hard. This motor also comes with a larger capacitor that fit the clip mount of the old capacitor. Its been installed for 36 hours and no issues so far. I will update if anything changes or if the unit fails prematurely. We run this unit about 9 months out of the year.
