Is there an App included with the item?

No. You have to get a compatible third-party App from the App Store or Google Play Store (some may NOT be free). Also what features you can get mainly depends on your chosen App. Please refer to the product images or user instructions.
How to connect with iOS devices?

The device works with iOS devices via Bluetooth LE, and you should connect in the OBD App instead of iOS Bluetooth Settings. In the OBD App, set the connection method to Bluetooth LE.
Can it reset my ABS, airbag, or oil service light?

Standard OBD2 Apps only provide basic check engine light diagnostics. You will need a capable App that can do advanced diagnostic (on ABS, SRS) on your specific vehicle. Check the product image or user instructions. It cannot reset oil service light.
Does it read transmission temperature or other manufacturer-specific PIDs?

The transmission (fluid) temperature is a manufacturer specific PID so it’s not read by standard OBD2 Apps. Please refer to user instructions or contact support for help.
What's the main difference between the plus version and the standard BLE version?

The OBDCheck BLE+ supports more AT commands, and it's up to the App whether to deploy these commands.

Troubleshooting (find out more in Troubleshooting guide or User instructions)

1. When I try to connect “VEEPEAK” with my iPhone or iPad, it tells me it is not supported.

You will see this error when trying to connect from the iOS Bluetooth Settings. This device uses Bluetooth LE for iOS devices and the correct way is to connect in the App. Please restart your iOS device so “VEEPEAK” shows up again, then start the OBD App to connect (refer to the setup guide in product images or Installation Manual).

2. Could not pair my Android device with “VEEPEAK”.

Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on. Try pairing a few more times; Turn off WiFi & cellular data; Restart your Android device; For Android 13+, go to Settings->Apps->App Battery Usage, Check Show System in the menu, find & tap on "Bluetooth" and select Unrestricted, then do the same for Bluetooth Legacy; For Car Scanner ELM OBD2 or Infocar App, you can initiate the Bluetooth pairing in App settings; For some Android head units, check the Bluetooth settings and see if PIN is enabled or the default pairing PIN is correct (should be 1234).

3. After pairing with Android phone, it does not show as connected.

On some Android phones, it may show as saved, or paired after pairing (or even shows connected but then becomes disconnected in a few seconds). You do not need to tap on it to connect again. You just start the OBD app and continue to connect.

4. App not connecting to Veepeak device.

Make sure the App is compatible, and you have made the correct App connection settings (set to Bluetooth LE especially for Car Scanner iOS App) and granted the App permissions (Bluetooth for iOS, nearby devices for Android); Remove and re-install the app (especially when you have an OS update or the App is not used for some time); Try with a different App.

5. Cannot connect to vehicle/ECU.

Make sure the OBD port is in good condition and the device fits well in it. Try to push it a little harder into the OBD port if the contact is loose as powering up does not always mean a good fit. Make sure your vehicle is OBD II compliant, and ignition is turned ON; Check if your vehicle is supported by the App; Try it on another vehicle.

I want to start by confirming that this OBD does work with the app provided in the instructions included in the box. I was able to successfully diagnose my car using it. However, for peace of mind, I also wanted to use BIMMERCODE or BIMMERLINK for diagnosis. After some research, I found that while VEEPEAK is compatible with these apps, it doesn't work with my specific model, a BMW E87 from 2006. It seems that models from 2007/2008 and above would be, although not able to confirm if they would work on BIMMERCODE/BIMMERLINK.

The OBD came well-packaged, with clear instructions on how to pair it via Bluetooth. The app quickly scanned my car and identified any errors. I ended up returning the item since I no longer needed it and decided to purchase a slightly more expensive OBD in the hopes that it would be compatible.

To clarify, if you're planning to use this OBD with a 2006 BMW E87 for BIMMERCODE or BIMMERLINK, it won’t work.

ALSO, I also couldn't connect it to PROTOOLS by BIMMERGEEKS, though that may have been an issue on my end. Both BIMMERCODE and BIMMERLINK confirmed it wasn't compatible with my car.
