I have been searching for a legitimate replacement charger for my old V8 Dyson, on and off for a couple years. The plastic of the original cord wore out, the wires were exposed, and I'd have to position it just right to get any sort of charge. Like many expensive brands who make their replacement parts specific to their brand, buying something as simple as a replacement cord is usually dependant on purchasing from that company.
So I'm taking the time to write this review, to assure others like me - who don't have spare change in the budget to pay for expensive replacement parts - that this charger is the one.
I was worried when I first plugged it in, that my Dyson wouldn't even register it. But the blue lights lit up on my vacuum and it seemed to be charging. An hour later I checked back, and my vacuum was fully charged.
Not only that, but when I finally started to vacuum my neglected carpet (riddled with cat hair) I was caught off guard with how strong the vacuum strength was - it honestly felt much stronger than when I ever charged it with my original Dyson charger. For someone with cats, tackling the never-ending job of de-hairing my couch, carpet, & bed - it is a never ending job. Because of this strong charger, vacuuming has become so much easier now that the vacuum is able to properly do its job!
