Product Description

UGREEN Micro USB ethernet adapter for Chromecast allows you to connect your Chromecast with ethernet at speed of 10/100 Mbps with power supply over USB port.

The ethernet adapter enables ethernet connection for your Chromecast, a much faster and stable internet connection compares to WIFI. No more signal interfernce when using WIFI against other Wireless signal such as Bluetooth. No driver program or application required, simply plug and play.

How to use the Ethernet adpater for Chromecast?

Step 1. Connect Chromecast with TV via HDMI input port.

Step 2. Plug the Micro USB cable of the erthernet adapter to Micro USB port on the Chromecast. Please make sure the Micro USB connector is inserted tightly into your Chromecast.

Step 3. Conenect one end of ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of the ethernet adapter for faster Internet access.

Step 4. Plug the USB Cable into AC Power source and then begin to stream your videos and music.

Note:

1. The adapter does not support New Chromecast TV with USB C Port

2. This adapter is designed for Chromecast 1st Generation, 2nd Generation and Chromecast Ultra, both of which support Ethernet via the Micro USB port.

3. Please make sure that another end of your ethernet cable is connected to a functioning router that has Internet connectivity.

I was skeptical by getting the off-brand Ethernet adapter for the Chromecast (there is a pricier version available directly from Google) but it works wonderfully. I've only used it for roughly 2 weeks, so not very long. I can't yet speak to long term quality - like if the internals will eventually corrode themselves away from the inside out, much like no-name cheap iPhone wires sometimes don't last long - but this device is a beauty and works completely as advertised!

No set-up is required, you simply plug the the connections into what's required and the Chromecast will immediately switch to Ethernet and no longer use the wifi connection is had in it's memory. For this this means I can now stream 1080P much more smoothly and it has greatly improved my viewing experience.

It came with a mini-CD. I have no idea what the content of it was - presumably instructions? Although it doesn't need instructions as you simply connect the 3 wires (one to power source, one to internet, and one to the Chromecast) and it works from there on out. I don't have an optical drive in my computer so I'll never know.

This really was simple to setup. I followed the other reviews advice and reset my Chromecast first. Once complete, I unplugged it and switched it over to the Ethernet and turned it back on. That’s it - no messing around with Wi-Fi.

After running a few tests the ping is reduced and loading content is faster. Once streaming there’s no difference for me as my Wi-Fi was decent however this product really does improve latency. Feels snappier.

I took away one star because it takes a little more amps than expected so had to use a different USB port or the chromecast rebooted due to insufficient power. Also, the cables are a little long for my taste. Overall it’s good quality though.

Prior to using Ethernet adapter, my Chromecast was connected to my network via wifi. When streaming shows the picture would pause every 10 minutes or so and then take at least 30 or more seconds to resume. Connecting this directly to the wifi router via Ethernet has solved the issue. Once the show starts it plays right through to the end now without any pauses. Connecting this was very simple to do. The key thing to remember is to do a factory reset on the Chromecast after you have connected it via Ethernet and follow the normal setup process.

Semplice da installare, basta inserire nel cavo ethernet, la usb alla spina ( io l'ho messo nell'alloggio del tv) e la micro usb inserirla alla chromecast. Dopo pochi secondi lampeggiano i LED e la chromecast è collegata.
