Unit doesn’t work. As other have mentioned, the switch pops out of the house the first time you press it. Even with it reinstalling, the button doesn’t work unless you bang it just right, and even then not always. The actual switch inside the housing works to control the opener, but that’s not really helpful unless you want to disassemble the unit every time you want to use it.

    The phillips screws started stripping and caming out when I put the switch on its back plate.
    Robertson screws don't do this.
    The screws are stainless so if you drop one in the grass no magnet will help you find it.
    Other than that it works well . I used 10-32 screws that I drilled and tapped into my 4*4 HSS gate post too mount it .
    I lost one of the four little plastic plugs to cover the screws.
    The terminals in the switch don't work with the wire provided . I had to solder some #14 solid copper tips on the cable wires so the large terminals on the switch would tighten down on the tiny wire.

I will be sealing the new button better when I replace the older one.] Had this easy access button added to the gate opener controller so delivery companies could access the front of the house for safer storage. It works well but 2 months into winter the button is freezing up due to humidity and water access as the weather sealing is inadequate. Will probably need to replace this in the spring and seal the new one in silicone.

    I purchased this product over a year ago along with several other items from Topens. I installed it myself and the hardest part was digging the trenches for the wires. The gate opener worked perfectly for the past year, and I am extremely satisfied. After a year something went wrong and I contacted Emilia at Topens and even though the warranty expired the customer service I received was EXCELLENT!     Installation was easy and it worked well for about a month but became unreliable after that and finally quit working after about 2 months. I took it apart and found that the push lever wasn't pressing the switch far enough in to activate the gate. Holding the switch tight against the front cover allowed it to work but there was no good way to hold it in that position. I ended up adding some shims between the switch and front seal and it works now but it's not right.

    A second though minor issue is that the screws that secure the front cover rusted after the first rain. The switch came with plugs to cover the screws, glad I didn't install them because I wouldn't have been able to remove the front cover to work on the switch problem if I had.

    Within days of posting this review I was contacted by TOPENS customer service with an apology for the problems and instructions for obtaining a warranty replacement. I followed-up and had the replacement within about a week. The replacement was installed and it's been working fine so far. I really like this switch, it's definitely waterproof and the design is better than any of the other switches I've seen, I hope this replacement is good for the long-haul.

  • One TC148 push button only connects to one gate opener.
  • One gate opener can connect with at most four TC148 push buttons in parallel.
  • The cable (size: 2C x 22AWG) for connecting the push button with access control system is required but NOT included.
  • Generally, the distance between the TC148 push button and the control board of the gate opener should be within 16 feet (5m). If the good shielded wire is used, the distance can be up to 160 feet (50m).
  • To ensure continued safe proper weatherproof operation, all the cable entries MUST have conduits fitted.
  • The push button should be mounted on a clean, solid flat surface.
