Product description
With TERRO Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits, you have the flexibility to place bait stations almost anywhere around your property. The answer lies in the convenient multi-surface application, which allows you to lay the bait stations flat or adhere them to other surfaces. Just use the included adhesive strips to attach the pre-filled, ready-to-use bait stations on walls, under cabinets and a variety of other locations. Not only will this allow you to get the baits as close to the ant activity as possible, but it will also help to keep the stations out of reach of children and pets. In addition, TERRO Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits feature a discreet, two-color design, which seamlessly blends in with the rest of your décor so you won’t even notice it’s there. Simply choose the color that matches the location best – either white or beige – then apply the adhesive strip to the opposite side. Liquid ant baits are specifically designed to kill all common household ants. However, since it’s a bait, they work slowly to allow worker ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the colony. The active ingredient slowly interferes with the ant’s digestive system, and eventually kills it. This ensures that you get rid of the ants you see as well as the ants you don’t see.

- Reviewed in Canada on October 28, 2024Verified PurchaseHow TERRO Ant Traps Helped Us Control a Pharaoh Ant Infestation
Dealing with a pharaoh ant infestation can be frustrating. These tiny insects are persistent and can quickly spread from kitchens to bathrooms and even bedrooms. When we found ants invading multiple rooms in our home, we decided to try the TERRO Liquid Ant Bait that we purchased from 鶹. Here’s a detailed account of how the product worked for us and the steps we took to deal with the infestation effectively.
Initial Infestation and Setup
Our ant problem wasn’t limited to just one area. We noticed the ants in the kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms. After researching solutions, we settled on the TERRO ant bait, which came in a pack of four units. We placed one trap in each room, hoping to attract the ants and eliminate the colonies over time. However, for the first two days, there was no visible action. This had us a little worried, but patience is key when dealing with ant bait products.
Intensifying the Strategy: Pouring the Liquid Bait
When the initial setup didn’t seem to yield immediate results, we decided to pour some of the liquid bait directly on surfaces where we’d seen ants—specifically the kitchen counter, bathroom countertops, and the floors of the bedrooms. This step made a big difference. Suddenly, the ants started coming out in droves to feed on the bait. It was fascinating—and slightly alarming—how many ants appeared once they detected the bait.
The ants, drawn by the bait’s sweet liquid, fed actively and carried it back to their colony. We knew the key to TERRO’s success is that it works slowly, allowing the ants to share the poison with other members of the colony, including the queen.
Major Progress: Queen Ants Appear and the Trail Vanishes
Within about one week, we started to see a significant breakthrough. Not only did the worker ants keep coming, but we even spotted queen ants emerging from hiding in the kitchen and bathroom. This was a clear sign that the bait was reaching deep into the colony and disrupting its structure.
After seeing the queen ants, we knew it was time to clean the surfaces and seal any visible entry points. We thoroughly cleaned all areas with soap and water to remove ant trails and pheromones. In the bedrooms, we vacuumed everything, including floors, carpets, and corners where ants might have hidden.
Results and Long-Term Observations
Thanks to TERRO, the ants disappeared from every room within a week or two. However, completely eliminating the problem is challenging. While TERRO did an excellent job drastically reducing the infestation, a few ants started to appear again after some time. This suggests that some colonies may have survived or that new ants were finding their way inside.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, TERRO Liquid Ant Bait was a highly effective solution for our pharaoh ant problem. It successfully eliminated large numbers of ants, disrupted the colonies, and forced queen ants to surface, which is a rare but crucial step toward full elimination. However, it’s important to be realistic—no product guarantees 100% elimination of ants, especially in areas with recurring infestations.
If you’re struggling with ants, TERRO is definitely worth a try. Just remember that it takes patience and persistence. Make sure to seal any entry points, clean surfaces, and monitor for new activity to keep your home ant-free in the long run.
We’re happy with the results and would recommend TERRO to anyone facing a similar problem. It’s a simple, affordable solution that made a big difference in our home.

- Reviewed in Canada on June 7, 2025Verified PurchaseHad a recurring, bad infestation with the large, intimidating carpenter ants. For years I tried various products and methods (caulking cracks in the floor etc) - to no avail. Then I found this liquid product.
I placed two cartridges right on the floor in a corner where they're not easily kicked by mistake. Unlike with the Raid-branded products which ants simply ignore, it didn't take long before the ants started piling up on the cartridge to feed themselves and to share the delicacy with the other family members. Don't ask me how ants carry liquid back to the nest. I don't know how, but it seems like they do, because it didn't take two full days for them to disappear completely.
I understand that this is just a temporary measure and another colony may return at a later time, but since the fix is so easy, those won't last long ;-) Much better than having professional pest control fumigate your home with potent chemicals; and the ants will be back in that case too. I highly recommend this product; it truly works as advertised, at least for carpenter ants.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 18, 2025Verified PurchaseThese have changed with less plastic I guess, but I preferred the old style where it housed the bait better and more secure if you have pets around.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 28, 2025Verified PurchaseThe gel itself works. But it is not the product in the first photo (I should have read more reviews before I bought it). I have bought other gel traps from this brand before (they worked great!) and I saw that this one could be stuck to surfaces and I thought ‘oh amazing I will stick it on the wall by the coffee maker, so they stop getting in the water!’ I was lied to… my dreams dashed… and I had to stick it to the wall with scotch tape. The adhesive on the back is not sticky at all, it is poorly designed. Buy a different brand, maybe you can save your coffee maker.

3.0 out of 5 stars The ants deserve better product design than this but the liquid formulation works
Verified PurchaseDid not have a good experience with deployment of this product - I had to hack it:
1. The directions advise you to twist the top tab to break it open and expose the solution. Upon closer inspection, it's clear you need to fold it in the other direction to break it first, then twist as instructed. Time wasted twisting, using a knife, trying other pods, before figuring this out on my own.
2. The adhesive to stick it on a baseboard is ineffective. It falls right off, potentially leaking product. I had to fashion my own solution using scotch tape.
3. Carpenter ants don't seem willing to climb up and around this awkwardly shaped plastic pod to climb inside. I doubt if any research was done on how they like to congregate and feed. I had to dribble the product out onto pieces of material on my floor for the ants to take to it. Messy but they flocked to the liquid in droves.
You're paying for a very poor delivery system, and maybe 10g of liquid.
On a positive note, the ants took to the liquid like thirsty tourists at a swim up bar. Picture dozens upon dozens of ants lined up in perfect formations to feed.

Great stuff , keep away from animals though
- Reviewed in Canada on May 17, 2025Verified PurchaseVery disappointed, we were looking for the ones with the hard case, these flimsy ones were sent. Figured we would give them a try, they may work the same, however the adhesive barely sticks to any surface which causes concern that they may fall off, which is a concern for our pets.
Kind of a bait and switch with having the duel colour hard shell ones as the main picture and then sending these out.
