Steve Hackett proudly presents 'The Lamb Stands Up Live At The Royal Albert Hall', a stunning audio/visual document of his show at the iconic London venue in October 2024. Steve and his live band celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Genesis concept album 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway', with several tracks from that album including 'Fly On A Windshield' & 'Lilywhite Lilith'. The live set also features a selection of other Genesis and solo classics, including music from his most recent acclaimed album 'The Circus and The Nightwhale'. This special evening saw the band joined by guests including Ray Wilson, Steve Rothery, John Hackett and Amanda Lehmann, in the beautiful surrounds of this historical building. Presented as a Ltd 2CD+Blu-ray Digipak & Ltd 4LP 180g-Vinyl Boxset (including 12-page LP-booklet), the live audio has been mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, and visuals directed by Paul Green.

Steve Hackett & Co. once again demonstrate that they are not just an aging legacy act.
This live set starts with music from Steve's extensive solo discography, which is worth the price of admission all by itself. The second CD breaths new life into what many consider Genesis's high water mark, "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway".
This performance and production, IMHO, surpassed the original in energy and in holding the listeners interest. Steve has this rare quality of playing yet not overplaying his guitar in a way that truly serves the music. His arrangements are for the most part faithful to the original recordings. The fact that he is confident and self assured enough that he can share the spotlight and be a band mate elevates him as an artist.
If you are just dipping your toes into the prog world & Genesis pool in particular. This is a great place to begin your journey.

I can't give this 2 CD / 1 BluRay set anything less than 5 Stars. It is beautifully packaged, a great set list and excellent sound. What's not to like. Steve and his band are in superb form with a few guests joining him. Initially I hesitated to buy this as I have his 8 previous Live "Genesis / Solo" sets. It was quite expensive but luckily reduced by £6 the other day so I went ahead and bought it. Glad I did as it is simply excellent as you might have come to expect from Steve and his band. The Lamb is well represented along with a few songs from Steve's latest solo offering along with a few Genesis classics. A great addition to my collection.
