Product Description

Easily grow different kinds of seeds and sprouts
Grow delicious, nutritious and healthy sprouts at home with this easy and convenient seed sprout tray. Enjoy healthy sprouts for salads, sandwiches and soups at home in just a few days. No soil or sunlight is required, just water and time, and no other additives are needed when germinating.

Tips:
If the holes in the planter pan are too large for your seeds, you can put down a chemical-free germination paper towel so the seeds don't go through.
Stress-free planting for beginners
Warm reminder:
- Watch your beans closely during planting and keep them moist.
- Bean sprouts should be grown indoors and should be avoided from the sun.
- When adding water, the water should not exceed the grid plate, otherwise the beans will be corrupted.
Soak the beans
Wash the beans once, pour in an appropriate amount of water to soak, the water should exceed the beans, soak for 12-20 hours, and change the water once during the period.
Spread the beans
Spread the soaked beans evenly on the grid plate, do not overlap between the beans, pick out the bad seeds and throw them away.
Keep moist
Moisten the seeds with a watering can, lightly cover the seeds with a piece of germination paper, and spray again. Spray water 2-3 times a day to keep the nursery paper moist.
Harvest your veggies
When the root shoots pierce the planter tray, start adding water to the tray. When harvesting, just cut off with scissors.

- Reviewed in Canada on December 19, 2022Verified PurchaseFor larger seeds, these are great trays. If you use smaller seeds like alfalfa, you will need a way to drain the seeds other than with the perforated trays. I just use a plastic fine mesh strainer. These are way easier to use and clean than the jars I used to sprout in.
- Reviewed in Canada on August 31, 2022Verified PurchaseI returned two sets of sprouting trays by other makes, but will keep this one. They all work pretty much the same way. The pros and cons of this set in comparison to the others:
PRO:
a) Covers are included;
b) good price given the number of trays;
c) and most importantly, the water (green) tray fits nicely into the seed tray. This allows stacking, saving space while creating a dark environment for germination.
To facilitate germination and to encourage the roots to grow downward, cover the seeds with some weight and to keep the seeds in the dark. This is most conveniently accomplished by stacking the trays in the following order: bottom tray for water (green) <== seed tray (white) <== green <== seed, and so on, finished with the cover on top of top seed tray. I'd cover the top seed tray with ceramic for weight. If a spare green tray is available, place it on top with the weight in it.
CON: The plastic is a bit thinner than the other sets, but the covers are included unlike some others.
TIPS:
a) Like most trays of similar sizes, the holes are too large for small seeds. Pre-soaking will enlarge the seeds; if not, cover the seed tray surface with a suitable grid (e.g. silicone dehydrator sheets, stainless steel woven wire mesh, germinating paper). I'd avoid paper that has been chemically processed.
b) To avoid mold: discard stale water in the trays and wash seeds with water twice a day.
To ensure absolutely no mold or growth of bacteria/virus while enhancing sprout freshness, spray the seeds/sprouts with 10ppm-colloidal silver solution. This also eliminates the need of daily washing. Colloidal silver is very safe but regular ingestion of large quantity (say 8 oz/day) may cause blue skin in long term. It's a very expensive supplement, but DIY costs the price of distilled water.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 2, 2023Verified PurchaseThese are great for growing your sprouted seeds. Very easy, this was my 1st time. Years ago we tried the jar method and lasted about 4 tries.
The only issue is that they are not the easiest with the smaller seeds as they fall through the holes. After a day or 2 they are big enough to catch if you empty the bottom tray through the seed tray... but you must be slow or the water pushes the other seeds already there into a bunching that can rot later.... that's the learning curve.
