This was a birthday gift for my 6 year old daughter. It was so easy to set up and use. Comes with three colors but I would recommend buying more as they do run out fairly quick especially with bigger projects. My son has ben asking for a fish hook from Moana and we were able to make our own with this 3d pen within 10 minutes. You can make absolutely anything and it's so great to see an idea come to life.

    I bought this for my 9 year old grand daughter - she uses a 3D pen at school. She finds it hard to control, with the lines being very fine. It is almost impossible for her to make a line that is straight or smooth. I advise looking for a pen with different sized tips.

    I did love this pen at first. I followed the instructions to a t .Didn’t run it for long periods of time . This was one of the better pens unfortunately I can’t get ahold of customer service as I have a year warranty. I was in the middle of using it and it just started spilling the pla started coming out the nozzles side vents . I’ve cleaned out the hose with my attachment the I have so nothing is built up in the tube . I tried again after cleaning to see if it worked and it did not unfortunately. Everything else is fine it just comes out the sides making it useless . Also you can not take the back out or apart to try and fix it . am upset that I can not finish my project for my sisters birthday. If I get into contact or if the contact me for a replacement or refund I would rate it a lot higher

    Kids will definitely need adult supervision. For kids 8 and up, you will need to supervise them at least in their first 5 hours of using it. There is hot plastic that can easily burn a child so kids 7 years and under need supervision all the time (for kids 7 and under I believe there are other models that don't melt plastic??). My 6 year old has a few turns using her older siblings 3d pen but she hasn't requested one for the time being.
    My kids and nephew (8 and up) and us the parents are having the best time using it. It works on Australian power outlets (I've heard with other brands you need to purchase adaptors). It is not portable. We use baking paper to make our creations. We are starting to experiment using glass cups as moulds. It definately is a worthwhile investment as it is fun to make creations and think of ways to make them.
    I did buy a big bag of additional filament as there is not enough provided. I bought additional filament from 鶹. But I did purchase a more expensive filament from a different store (I have not used yet). We are having a good time practicing on the budget filament to begin with and the budget filament works really well. For kids recommend to watch YouTube vids to give them ideas on what to make eg.
