I was sceptical and unsure of how this bag was going to trap and keep the beetles in it, as there’s 4 fairly large sections for the beetles to get into. So one would assume they could fly back out, but they don’t. They’re not very smart bugs!!! Anyway, this bag is doing the trick! I have an elm tree that they congregate to, so I placed the bag right on a branch of that tree and voila, they seem to go right to it. The instructions say not to put it on a tree, rather place it elsewhere to lure them from the tree but nah, no need. Highly recommend this bag!!

    We had a lot of Japanese Beetles in our backyard, this product actually works it attracts them and they fall for it, it is not 100 percent as We still have beetles on our plants but many fall for the trap, easy to instal just follow the directions only issue is opening and resealing the trap to get rid of the collected beetles also some actually escaped the trap but overall a good buy.

    I bought this to see if it would work. i have been going away for vacation from June till October and when I get back I have a zillion Japanese oriental beetles eating away destroying my rose of Sharon flowers and eating every other flowering plant I have in the yard... so I bought this review is because it won't be till October that I know if this is working or worked so lets hope when I get home for vacation it is over full with dead beetles???? if so I will buy more of these and continue to do so each year

    This product is amazing for attracting the hateful j. Beetles. My only complaint is it's supposed to be resealable. It technically is but when u try to seal it after dumping it doea not make a full seal and the little nasties can then escape. We solved this problem by placing a tub/5 gal bucket under it. I do this even before we dump it bc they arent adept fliers and will just fall in so it's just an added bonus. I will and already have bought these again. The attractant outlasted their rampage. I can still smell it faintly after 2+months. It says u can replace attractant 2 but 1 the bags look pretty gross after the 1st attractant wears out and I would NOT want to store it for winter and 2 I could not find replacement for it....not that I spent more then 5 min on amazon trying. I also like that it reseals bc you dont have to buy extra bags and use more single use plastics. We have almost 4 acres and got buy with 2 of these at wither end of the property. This is not a cure all we still used 7 on our grapes, Rose's, crab apple, pussy willow, apple trees, holly hock,and lindon. They also est smart weed as well bit as the name implies we did not 7 it. Update I left the attractant out all winter and I still vaguely catch a whiff of it. That stuff is strong. Not important just interesting

    This product works so well that I recommend you set the traps out with neighbors present. The first time I placed these traps in my yard(which is 4 or 5 years ago)I was alone in my backyard. As soon as I had the lure package open, Beetles started flying around me. Once the trap was hung, one of the wildest things happened right before my eyes. Beetles were coming up out of the ground and out of surrounding bushes to get at that lure(as if two cruise ships were loading passangers). Within 30 minutes I had over a estimate of 100 Beetles in each of the Beetle Trap catch bags.
    Since that day, I purchase the Beetle Traps every year around Memorial Day. Every year the Beetle count has gone down. This year I may have 100 Beetles total between the two traps.
    I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of beetles that get into my pool. My trees, plants, grape vine, and bushes have a fraction of the damage to them now than before I started using the Beetle Traps.

    We have japanese beetles/lady bugs in our house. I can vacuum them up and throw out what I trap but suddenly 50 more appear. I purchased this item hoping it would drastically reduce the population by attracting the bugs into the bag. The attractant has a delightful floral scent (obvious to human noses) but sits a good 8 inches above the bag itself. The beetles are not attracted to this. When a beetle accidentally falls in the bag, it climbs right back out as there are four holes for it enter or exit through which are at least 1 square inch each in size. Even if the bugs were lured into the trap it is ineffective at keeping them in. And there is no 'stun' factor as the description mentions. I do not recommend this item.
