Pedestal Pumps vs Submersible Pumps

The RLSP33PED pedestal pump is a great choice but has one drawback. All pedestal pumps have an unsealed motor. If the motor gets exposed to water, it is susceptible to irreparable damage. Have you considered upgrading to a SUBMERSIBLE PUMP? Submersible pumps are designed to sit in water and therefore the motor is completely sealed. It's very easy to replace a pedestal pump with a submersible pump. We offer cast iron, stainless steel and thermoplastic options. The only thing needed is a reducer (1-1/2-inch FNPT to 1-1/4-inch FNPT) or replace the pipe to 1-1/2-inch pipe. The chart below shows a comparison selection of our most popular pumps.

Product description

The Red Lion RLSP33PED (14942052) 115 Volt, 1/3 HP pedestal sump pump delivers up to 3300 gallons per hour suitable for average home in North America. The reinforced engineered polypropylene construction is rust-resistant. The adjustable snap-action float switch activates the pump when water reaches 8 to 10 inches and automatically shuts the pump off when water falls between 3 and 5 inches. This pump is equipped with a 1-1/4-inch discharge and an 8-foot cord. The RLSP33PED fits in basins 13 inches or larger.
