Accurate!
I love this gadget! Finally something decent compared to the basic stick guage. Very accurate. Perhaps a little too accurate at times when it fluctuates between readings. Two things that could be improved are an on/off switch. Everytime I pick it up, it seems to be "on" which may run the battery down sooner. They do include a spare battery though. Another one is to keep the imperial readings in /32s instead of fluctaling to /64th and /128th. Perhaps keep it at /32s and add a decimal point after. That ways I don't have to keep dividing the numbers into 2 or 4 to get the correct number.

    The accuracy is excellent. Tread depth is measured in mm, thousandths of an inch and fractions of an inch.
    The one thing that could be improved, is the fractions of an inch. For example, it gives you 1/4", 1/8", 1/16", 1/32", 1/64", 1/128"
    The only fraction of an inch that is useful to me in automotive tire application is 32nds. The rest is very distracting and hard to remember.
    MM's are easy to use as they are progressive, I just have never used them.
    Thousandths of an inch is very helpful in metal working, I'm not sure if I would use this setting.
    Perhaps I can adapt to the different ways of measuring tread depth, because it's a remarkable tool.

Tire depth gauge is easy to use and I really like the ability to get tread depth measurements in different scales. 1/32 being the traditional north american measurement is available but since this gauge makes metric easily available I think that may be more accurate. So the instrument works well and the packaging provides a secure place to store it when not in use as it came with a plastic tray that fits perfectly and slides right back in the box!

    Good product and easy to use. My only issue is that it is maybe to accurate. When checking the tread depth of my tires I will sometimes get readings as ??/128. Tire depth is usually recorded as x/32 inch depth so in order to know what my tread depth is I then have to convert ??/64 or xx/128 and round up or down to get to the standard /32 of an inch. It will probably be easier to measure in decimal or mm and then convert to 32's. This is not really an issue with the gauge, more of a annoyance that I was not expecting. While it's a good gauge people should be aware of this quirk before purchasing, is you normally measure in decimal inch or mm you will have no issues at all.

    Great product, and works as you'd expect. Must have if you are anal about tire wear on your vehicles, as I am. It is accurate and shows fractions and decimal readings. There is only one thing I would change, I wish you could select a specific fraction (eg. 32nds) and have the reading given in that. For example, instead the display will jump to 64ths, 128ths, 16ths etc. Minor complaint and just requires a quick bit of math if you are accustomed to measuring tires in 32nds as I am. Overall it does the job and is a good tool to have around!

    This guage is easy to use and good construction. The only issue for me is that the fractional inch measurement isn't locked at 32nds, unless there is a way to do that, it displays all fractions like 64ths and 128ths etc... unfortunately in the US the standard is 32nds. Other wise this thing is great and functions well. As I right this I noticed in the picture showcasing the fractional inch function the measurement displayed is 37/64. Lol so I guess I should have realized this. But, either way it want very expensive and I'm letting it as a backup when my other guess out. I'll just I have to do some math.

    Upside mine came with two batteries.
