- Reviewed in Canada on June 22, 2025Verified PurchaseI was skeptical on this product, because of the low price compared to other canned livers. Have tried and they taste just as Good as the other 2 brands I previously tried. I would recommend these, no problem... if you Love cod livers .
- Reviewed in Canada on March 9, 2022Verified PurchaseI discovered canned cod liver over a year ago. It tastes amazing on toast. Incredibly nutritious. Great product and vendor.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 22, 2025Verified PurchaseIt’s buttery good but the price is too much for me for little quantity in a can. This is the cheapest in the market now in comparison with other canned cod liver. I’m only curious since I never had Foie de Morue. Now that I had. I’m satisfied.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 27, 2022Verified PurchaseThis cod has a light flavor, it would be great mixed in with sardines to make a pate..I will be purchasing again if the pricing doesn't change.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 25, 2020Verified PurchaseThis is pretty good. Tastes rich and the texture is soft.
The only issue is it’s packed in a lot of cod liver oil. Which is fine, if you wanted a can of fish oil. A bit more liver and bit less oil and it’d be really stellar.
Still, it’s sustainable, tasty, and not terribly priced. I’d buy it again.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 6, 2021Verified PurchaseWas pleasantly surprised at the lack of any fish smell. It was neutral. Bought this purely for the nutritional content, hoping for improved vision from the vitamin A.
UPDATE: Likely to have caused a severe allergic(?) reaction or somsuch; distended abdomwn for several days; iron content is 50% of RDA approx in one can. Ref: Bill Sardi, health author.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 7, 2022Verified PurchaseI have no idea why this stuff is so addictive and only purchased it out of curiosity and a sense of adventure. (I like trying exotic or weird food sometimes.) But this stuff is so ADDICTIVE spread on buttery crackers and left unsalted. It is deliciously mild: I cream the tiny livers into a simple pâté using a small fork and give the emptied tin to my cat.
I always feel remarkably virtuous and healthy afterwards!--Did anyone else grow up being given cod liver oil for all ailments?
If you enjoy various pâtés then I think trying these are worth a shot. Especially nice as a light appetizer with carbonated mineral water or a crisp dry white.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 26, 2024Verified PurchaseI never thought I would eat fish liver but I’ve read so many good things about this that I decided to try. I am honestly quite shocked how much I appreciate it. I don’t eat this often but sometimes I crave it so I just take it as a sign that I must need it for some reason.
