I LOVE this little blender, works great, takes little space, great for small daily jobs.
LIKE FOR ALL BLENDERS, NOT JUST THIS ONE, ALL - Just be sure to actually REMOVE the rubber ring, the gasket that is in the blender cap (that has the blades), use a butter knife or a fork, or a skewer and be CAREFUL not to hurt yourself but this MUST be done to clean underneath. You cannot just rinse it all out, even throwing in the dishwasher will NOT get the blended food out from under the gasket, then it gets rotten and full of bacteria. Just pull it out and check and you'll see what you've been leaking into your food.

This is not a problem only with this blender, this is something you have to do with ALL BLENDERS, OR ALL APPLIANCES OR TOOLS, you have to clean them fully, even under any moving removable parts, or you get NASTY BACTERIA. It's just proper cleanliness and maintenance.

STAY AWAY SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Buying this machine is like lighting your money on fire! �鶹�� has been very helpful with each transaction!

I was downsizing so gave away my bullet with all the cups/accessories and bought this little Oster. Includes 1 cup, 1 lid & the blade... Simple! It holds a lot, easy to wash & a good price. Unfortunately, the clasp on the clear lid broke so be careful with that. (See pic) I can still use the lid but no serious shaking after blending! :(

I wanted a smoothie maker/personal blender that I could use with my existing mason jars and took a chance on this one as I know many classic Oster blenders can be "hacked" using mason jars. I didn't know if this personal blender would work but to my surprise it did! Also great price point and didn't come with extra unnecessary accessories. I can't speak to the longevity of the product as I have only used it a few times, and it is quite inexpensive so I wouldn't be too surprised if it didn't last that long as other reviewers have experienced, but I will take my chances and be extra careful with it as I am so happy to have found a personal blender that has all of the features I was looking for (no extra accessories, have to lock in place in order to use - safety feature as I wanted this for my toddler's Montessori style kitchen set up, separate button that has to be held down to activate the blender - another safety feature for use with my toddler, and of course able to use regular mason jars!) A bonus is that it is a bit more powerful than other personal blenders such as the magic bullet (this Oster is 500 watts compared to the classic magic bullet which is only 250 watts). So far I'm thrilled to have found this blender. Fingers crossed it will last a reasonable amount of time/uses. Will update my review if anything changes.

Bought two of these, and after the 2nd one we've given up and moved to a different brand. When it works, it's nice and powerful, making smoothies from frozen fruits, ice cubes etc. The weak link seems to be the blade attachment. The first one wore out after a year, with the gasket holding the blade in wearing out. The 2nd only lasted a month, with the rubber part that attaches to the drive motor tearing itself apart. Consider this type of appliance disposable I guess, so why pay for a brand name. �鶹�� was good and refunded me for the 2nd device.

The only small thing to know is that the jar is narrow and I can't get my hand in the clean it. I do have a brush that works though. I rated it a 5 for cleaning as I'm ok with using the brush.
